  1. This is one of those enjoyable cases where I can argue in detail the relative merits of two cars I have never even seen in real life before, let alone driven or (don't make me laugh) owned. I agree with Munky, that the 959 was extremely accomplished technically, but unfortunately it's hideous looking. All massive fat arsed hanging out the rear uglyness. The F40 is no E-type Jag in the looks department, but of the two function-over-form eighties ugly uber-cars, it would be my choice.
  2. Yep There was a big article on it in a recent edition of EVO mag. Apparently Vauxhaul have now cottoned onto it, and it's now a semi-official factory skunk-works project. Still not entirely sure I'd pop down to Tescos in it though, even if it is still street legal!
  3. Welcome aboard Steve
  4. I like this thread! Keep em coming!

    Oi oi!

Welcome! Perhaps it's time for a "currently driving an Alfa, but had a nightmare with my last German car" lounge??
  6. Quite right. Way to much money goes into engine development for that to make financial sense. Look at how VAG squeeze relatively few engine types into hundreds of models...
  7. Relatively cheap as chips too (probably because nobody likes them ? )
  8. As found on Pistonheads http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3147463.htm
  9. No its too big and wouldn't fit on the drive Besides which, it's crushing an Alfa 156....
  10. A bloke I know had one of those with an aftermarket Tom Walkinshaw supercharger. About 560 HP. Could see off an E60 M5. That'll do you!

    Um, hello?

    Welcome to AD EmmaGTV
  12. Welcome aboard to you both!
  13. So much speculation based on so much dodgy data.. Mine: http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/al ... ti_q4_jtdm Apparently one of 16 if you believe them (which I don't)
  14. Field Marshall Irwin von Twinspark surveys the battlefield from his custom Brabus G-Wagen...
  15. That'll be a nobody then. I don't mind the boggo G-wagens. You could happily nickname it 'The Panzer'. The Brabus tinsel looks a bit much though IMHO
  16. Just to get the image of a Morris Marina out of my head, I've found a picture of the first BMW I had anything to do with: An early seventies 3.0S. Owned by my dad for a few years. Obviously the photo isn't the exact one. I was six or seven at the time, so I can't comment on what it was like to drive Apparently it was a disaster reliability wise. Fuel tank split three times. Certainly pretty though..
  17. I took the photo on the Marina in front of all the posh boats, which says it all really...
  18. Would you have to change your final gear ratio for a Derv? Wouldn't want an oiler doing 3000rpm at 70mph. Interesting project though.
  19. How do you mean "it needs a new engine"? Is the existing one shot, or totally missing? If you are after an interesting engineering project, then sounds great. If you are after a cheap shed, could actually be a false economy..
  20. The give-away is the radiator grille, which they scraped off the M6 and dumped on top of the engine...
  21. It must have the same density as depleted uranium, as they certainly aren't that big. Apparently they do handle like a dog though... I like the styling. Fiat Barchetta + Z3 = much more than the sum of it's parts.
