  1. isnt it something to do with the little plastic pivot locating points in the switch rocker? a diy fix is possible in some cases iirc.
  2. just down the road... I'll take plenty of pics
  3. It is very satisfying when you have some little shit on a scooter sat on your bumper to plant it and leave him in a cloud of smog
  4. The whole cost of diesel thing is a myth. They are cheaper to run unless you're driving a 1.0 or something.
  5. That's because when they break, they don't leave the drive
  6. I know some good pubs in Norwich...
  7. I have a better idea. The guy who did the spraying will mop the bodywork and do whatever he does to get it off the glass...problem solved
  8. If you hadn't talked about ecu resets etc I'd say clutch, engine mounts or flywheel as the cause of judder... But if it changes with ecu stuff it's not that. Is it a derv? If not, it's idling way too high at 900 or the other one.. either way, check air intake hoses for leaks. Thats a good start... Then look at electrical stuff like ht leads, coil packs, plugs etc... The judder is probably uneven firing of some kind.
  9. He has issues... Don't go there some things are just best left alone... Anyway, on the subject of the mentals... I ♥ £1.99 express wash Mmmmmm swirly....
  10. Blah blah blah yawn... Fuck off

  11. Bmc Cda's are as good as any off-shelf filter gets imo. But they need to be setup right. Without a good supply of cold air any filter will do more harm than good. By good supply, I mean from outside the engine bay, preferably 'rammed' as the yanks say... Eg; Before I ditched the full beam and added the hose/vent my bhp went from 170 to 160. Afterwards it jumped to 182 (dyno'd). It was coupled with a silencer-free straight through exhaust though. No point improving the flow into the engine if it can't get out too.
  12. not on glass when the sun hits it
  13. whats the best/cheapest/quickest way to get it off? Thinners on a rag?
  14. On discovery's 'megafactories' series they had both Ferrari and Lamborghini featured. Ferraris factory was 'clean room' standard with everything performed and built to sub-millimetre perfect tolerances by uber attentive workers, supercomputer controlled assembly and design robots, and one of the most advanced assembly lines in the world. Then the finished product was tested in a controlled environment dyno lab to within an inch of its limits. Very impressive stuff. Lambo have a shabby looking bunch of warehouses where their cars are mostly hand built by master craftsmen who use their knowledge and experience to ensure, by eye mostly, it is put together perfectly. They dont have their own paint shop so they send out the body bits to a local sprayers where each car is painted by hand, by only one sprayer per car to ensure a consistent finish. The chassis and engine are put together by hand mostly, by men with oil under their fingernails in dirty overalls. Then on a semi automated assembly line, the body is mated to the chassis. The finished product is then taken out onto the back roads of the surrounding vilages and put through its paces by test drivers who risk the local plod handing out speeding tickets every time. I know which one I have more respect for

  16. Hi paul, welcome to AD. Feel free to register as a full member if you like. It costs nothing, only takes a minute or two and gives you access to the whole forum. I'll add this to our events calendar for you and post a link to it here so people who are going can rsvp to give you an idea of numbers. I doubt, sadly, there will be many. Our scottish contingent needs a bit of work. I'd guess Mokicat and Alfabhoy (the other site owners) may be interested though as they're up that way, and we do have a few other scots lurking about the place too.
  17. I'm shocked! I expected something like "aftermarket audio is pointless extra weight/can't offer anything over factory kit built for the car by the alfa design gods" from you. With the ripspeed special alloys on black beauty and now an interest in 'ICE' I'm starting to think you might not be a robot after all... Back on topic... I Can't say I've ever associated alpine with anyone tbh, I just know they offer high quality kit at good prices. They're a popular choice amongst the competition crowd. We'll have to agree to disagree about caps. A good headunit with a good amp will manage the current without help imo. I've run a 500w rms 138db sq system happily without any caps, extra batteries, split charge etc. (never quite got it setup how I wanted sadly, but it could score steady mid 70's in competitions) A friend had a spl setup running god knows how much power through three 18" re xxx (iirc) subs with nothing more than an uprated alternator in a 1.2 corsa. Admittedly the quality was poor, but fuck me it was epic when it dropped a 20hz burp at 150db. Ps; if you think it's pointless trying to get audiophile approved sound quality in a car, take a seat in a high end competition level sql car it is a tough job to do it in a car, but it's far from impossible.
  18. Purple charger is One of my dream-garage cars is a Superbird, so awesome They say the jap car scene invented the BGW the yanks have been doing it for decades Agreed on the pt loser... Ebay chrome bits and off-shelf graffffixxx fail. Its possible to polish that turd into a very cool car if done right... That isn't right This is - the convertible version is a guilty pleasure of mine Oh and huh? The black firebird? Bandits car off of the 80's? For me?? Errr, eh?

    Re Mapping

If you just want to gather up lost horses, the needy fella with the big gay twat sig is right. A thorough service (fluids, filters, belts, plugs, wires and the odd ancillary that might be old and slow (pumps, alternator, etc) will do the job just as well if not better. Its all easy stuff. Get the parts at trade price from hubby and get your hands dutty woman!
  20. Admittedly I haven't looked at either in much detail for... erm... ever. But isn't the Zender kit pretty much a GTA replica? *waits for smaky to and shout at me*
