  1. http://pistonheads.com/sales/4133236.htm Well guys I've decided to sell my baby the advert is on pistonheads but I'm not going to be away long going to look at a 3.2gt this afternoon I think I've been bitten hard by the Alfa bug!
  2. I work on the side as a self employed car detailer do alot of work on the classic Porsches that dick Lovett occasionally has in his showroom in Bristol keeping a car as clean as it can be is a labour of love and I love doing it! But 5 156's lol I thought I had problems with 5 cars and 2 bikes lol
  3. Just done a quick read up on the web on it and there appears to be mixed opinions on weather this is advisable or not lol but I guess engines are so cheap even if I do blow this one another costs sod all! I'll do the flywheel asswell purely because I have it here brought it months ago when I first brought the car as I felt the car didn't rev as freely as it could I plan to get new cams in the next couple of months so the balance belt removal will be done when I fit the new cams and belts! Was hoping to have this car finished by now but my other project a fiat coupe 20vt sorta poped up lol
  4. 2.0 yes! Tell me more? Is the balancer belt not needed?
  5. The manifold really made a big difference to the mid to top power but more noticeable was the vast improvement in torque when I get to a pc instead of my iPad I'll start a thread with the power graph's the curve is almost spot on no real spikes and is so smooth To drive can't wait to get the new flywheel in to allow the engine to rev that bit quicker and more freely. How is the super sprint exhaust? Im toying with the idea of a custom quad exhaust ATM as I really like the look but only bolt on is the ragazzon and I'm not happy with the fact it has one box on the left then just a cross pipe to the other side I much prefer it to split as close to the cat as possible and have two separate boxes to keep it balanced and ensure the same amount of gases come out the back for appearance sake lol
  6. Mapping is an art form and although I havnt looked at the standard map on a 156 to give any real experience but a standard map in any car will always have compromises! I don't know the spec and any mods you have already done or have future planned for the car but as has already been said when looking to tune any car I always start with a base power run to see what I'm starting with followed by a full and in depth service as well as a good clean of the earthing points of the engine and ecu witch can cause minor power loses asswell as a coolant flush and replace anything that doesn't look quite right. And then another power run on average I whould say gains from just the service are between 6-10%. Then any mods you have planed finished with a remap to take into count the mods you have carried out IMHO remapping a NA motor has little benefit unless there are supporting mods!
  7. Biggest problem usually with any type of after market air filters are there placement! I know in this post were talking about replacing the standard paper filter with a foam replacement witch in thoery is a good idea more airflow but as a standalone mod it's benefits are questionable. On my 156 I've gone for a bmc cda intake system as I've used them in the past and rate them highly however mine has been matched with a super sprint exhaust manifold 200cpi sports cat and the autodelta system that came with the car. And then a remap and this together has made a nice difference to the drive and feel of the car! Next up are cams and a lightend flywheel money permitting. Just realised I've gone completely of track here
  8. I've always though that but then I was told the kit on my car was factory fitted and it's a 2001 witch whould predate the gta?? So not entirely sure however I'm hoping this works as the oly part of the kit I felt looked abi clumsy was where the front lip met th arch and my Poland whould remove that.
  9. Thanks for the replys guys think I'm going to get the bumper and give it a go! Want this car finished so. Can really appreciate looking at her as much as I do driving her!
  10. Hi all havnt posted in a while or indeed much attall got abit tied up with another project! However since last posting I have been searching and searching for the two parts of the zender kit that attach to the front bumper of the 156 as there missing on mine! Then the other day whilst at the gym I walked out to see a red gta parked up and was wondering as the gta wings appear to be flared, and the zender kit sorta replicates that, can I bolt a gta bumper on to a t-spark? I.e.are the mounting points and fixing in the same place? As I thought this whould widen it to take into count the arches and if need be I could have my body shop blend it to match perfectly. Any ideas much appreciated???? Many thanks in advance Matt.
  11. Hi all I'm after the two pieces of the 156 zender kit that attach either side of the front bumper to complete the arch theses are missing from my car and it leaves the front of the car looking unsightly any help appreciated thanks in advance Matt,
  12. Thank you it's nice to hear that there not as unreliable as you so often hear. I'll pop a wanted add up now thanks
  13. Evening I joined a few days ago but never got around to posting. I've recently brought a Alfa 156 2.0 t-spark with a zender body kit fitted, gta lights, gta seats and Alfa 147 super sport wheels. It also has received an auto delta re-map and exhaust. However it has lost a couple of parts of its zender kit of the front bumper so I'm on the lookout for these parts if anyone should know where I can locate them. I've been promising myself an Alfa for years but have always been put of by the reputation they have for reliability however in the couple of months I've owned it I've had no problems. My names matt and I work as a self employed car valetor/detailer I've owned a few car including a escort cosworth, calibra turbo, celica gt4, Williams Clio, Astra gsi16v,BMW m3 evolutions to name but a few and have to say although somewhat lacking in power the Alfa does put a massive smile on my face both to drive and just to look at. Anyway hi all I hope to meet some of you at any shows and hope to gain some more knowledge of the Alfa name.
