  1. So the part where the speakers gets installed is removable? Speakers gets installed from the bottom? Still looks curved/shaped according to the pic? If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  2. I'll see if I can source one, lol since you think I butchered mine:D, was more for practical reasons though If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  3. Is it a standard shelf or was it customised? If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  4. Welcome welcome, agree on the pics, like LJ said If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  5. Smaky can you post a pic of the shelf, would just like to see If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  6. Smiffy, how could you! If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  7. The car didn't have the original sound setup when I got it, but I'm sure it wasn't the Bose setup because there's no Bose labels on the tweeter pods, I also read that the Bose setup didn't have tweeters installed in the pods but rather had a two-way speaker in the doors, mine look to have factory installed tweeters in the pods If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  8. My thoughts too, surely they wouldn't do/leave a connection for that in the pillar post If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  9. I'm not with you Harry? You mean to say that it could be pre-installed wire connections should a Bose system have been installed? If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  10. While tracing the wires of the speakers installed in the rear doors, I came across a loose wire/connection in the passenger side door pillar. I couldn't figure out what it was for or see a female connection where it should plug in. Here's a pic. Anybody have an idea what this is for?
  11. Would be too big a mission to use the rear speakers installed in the doors' wires so ended up hooking the 6x9s up to a small amplifier in the boot. Luckily still had the power and source audio wires from a previous setup in the boot so that went quite quick.
  12. So the speakers in my Bella, since they only installed in the doors, didn't sound so good anymore. I decided to go with a pair of 6x9 Pioneer 400w speakers installed in the parcel shelf. I somehow thought that the positions in the standard shelf maybe had small holes in it to pass sound through it and that I could maybe just mount the speakers to the bottom of it, but not. Ended up having to cut holes in it to install the speakers. Because the shelf is not perfectly flat and having to keep the rear headrests in mind too, the speakers isn't installed fully flush with the surface but still sounds way better compared to the ones in the doors. Here's a few pics of the installation.
  13. If only I could have it shipped here for cheap If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  14. So, I returned from our trip on Monday evening. Changed only the oil and filter, didn't change any plugs, just checked all of them and gave them a clean with a wire brush. Car ran like a dream, very proud of my Bella If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  15. So what do you suggest? Just leave it as is? Will I sacrifice more tread wear than normal? If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  16. How do I correct the camber on front and rear? If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  17. Smaky, so if the toe should be 0 degrees, isn't -0.02 (front) closer to 0 than the -0.14 and 0.12 that it used to be? If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  18. Only seeing your post now Smaky, you talking about the toe? I don't really understand the printout or specs, diff between toe and camber. Also noticed that the car is pulling to the left now. And when braking from high speeds, I seem to hear a slight humming sound from the left front wheel, dead sure it wasn't there before I took the car in. So there should be another setting/specification for the selespeed? Will phone them tomorrow and hear if I can take it back. You dont perhaps have a printout of a car that is set up right? Pretty please? If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  19. Errrrm, I think you should make the wheels black too... If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  20. So, I fitted two new tyres today for our trip, and at the same time had all wheels balanced, re-inflated with nitrogen and had wheel alignment checked/done. Heres the report they gave me... I think they only adjusted toe, I think they said camber not adjustable. As I can see according to measurements and specifications, the camber does seem to be way out? What's the cause for this and how do I rectify it? Control arms? If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  21. Can't find the bosch plugs at our local spares shops, will check this afternoon how the current ones look and depending on that maybe leave the plug change till next full service If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  22. Will see tomorrow if the local spares shops stocks them or can source them, I take it they reliable enough, but for how long? Obviously not as durable as the platinum ones? If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  23. I used the BKR6EK in my previous car, BMW 325i, they exactly the same as the BKR6EKPA, except that they not platinum... They much much cheaper... If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  24. Planning a small roadtrip for the easter and thinking that I might want to do a oil and plugs change. I normally a oil change before every long trip, this one will be an approx. 2000kms round trip. Full service, belts, pulleys etc. was all done about 43 000kms ago, will do the next full service at 250 000kms. I know that these: PMR7A, BKR6EKPA are the right ones to use, but if on a tight budget (fuel for the trip will eat up almost all of the budget) can I temporarily replace them with others? Have not checked what the current ones look like. The previous ones I replaced did not really look bad. Suggestions? If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
