It looks from what I can see like it may be the cover off the underneath of the engine loom connector the base off the two large plugs above the throttle body?

Biggy did you find out what it was have seen one but can't for the life of me think where. Probably in the tray underneath. He he.

Ok good point thanks . I am assuming that as the mounting in the 156 147 are the same hence the engine sharing and subframe that the mounts should be available. Now await a stiff talking to by Smacky Who will probably think I've gone totally off my little trolley .

I know where there is a 147 diesel in the scappys so maybe it's more possible than I thought. Possible source of everything except the motor!

I know it sounds a bit too much hastle but might as said be an interesting long term project. Can't find a decent cheap twinny so may be a thing to collect bits and bobs for next year when the weathers better. No body seems to want the car as is so see what happens .

Oh . Did you use the same cover then. Pretty sure it's not the alternator one as that's a different fitment. Just trying to think what else has a Bosch cover apart from the abs can't think of anything off the top of my head . I expect Smacky would know straight away but don't know then I'm afraid sorry.

Ok can I put a 2.4 diesel in my 147 If so what do I need to change presuming I have a complete engine and box what do I need to change on the car?

Think the rear end of the 147 GTA is one of the best rear ends I've seen with the exception of some females!!

Of the cars I've owned my 164 has to be the best all rounder . Maybe not the best looking that would be a toss up between the 156 sportwagon and the 147 3dr but that's just the ones I have actually owned.

Yes that's exactly what happened with mine bought it but due to the fact it was the first twinny I had changed ,the weather and the fact I did it in a car par it was a couple of months by the time I'd bought the belts tensioners and tools to set it up the warranty had already run out ! Took ages checking and double checking the timing setting and TDC all seemed fine all did what it was supposed to started first time when fitted drove nice then the first time I took it on the dual carriage way for a proper run it blew. A bit odd as had been using it round the town for 2weeks and was great . Still a mystery as to what happened . Does make me very wary of buying another 2nd hand unit . Think I might buy a car if I can raise enough cash but then if that works ok there won't be any point in changing the engine.
