  2. Yes there is that just before is a good time people boosting their Xmas funds. I sort of understand where Cathy's coming from they are very boxy and masculine. 70s and a bit in that case just the price limits you a bit . Well for a ready to use one anyway but you never know. The 916 GTV 24v is not bad around the £3000 mark for a decent one. But that's back to the newer ones again .
  3. That gives you a good scope . I'll keep looking see what I can see. Think you might be seeing if you can find something old that needs a bit of work , certainly from an investment point of view.
  4. Gazelle have a much better rep in my opinion.hate to say it on here but Autolusso maybe???
  5. They are in ashington not far from me . What do you need to know. All I can tell you is they started off selling Alfas when it became possible to import them in dependantly. Thy only seem interested in selling new cars and whenever I have emailed them for parts they never got back to me. They took over a local specialist (bridge garage) in cowfold many years back and used the rep to sell imports. Then became an official franchise. Since when they seem to be just like most of the main stealers. Used to be really helpful when they were indie but not too sure now .
  6. Hi Kd , what sort of budget you thinking of ?
  7. As bad as it sounds I'm beginning to wish I'd had an accident rather than a blow up at least I would be able to get some thing back for the years of no claims I've put in
  8. You're lucky you got some money in it to make you twitchy
  9. I just hope I don't end up doing it from a cross on a hill
  10. Yes I drove a few clio's with electric steering I really don't like it at all bit strange.
  11. Well at least that's 1 plus point.
  12. Yeah that's the only problem the pedals . Found I got use to it after a while but when I hadn't driven one for a while then went back it fet really awkward. The sprint sud and 33 are all the same in that respect. Same floor pan like the 147 156 s You had the tracking checked recently on the megane could be its out a bit.
  13. Yes that is definetly the way to do things. You will know it when you see it. Have you heard anything from the garage yet as what happened to the nut.
  14. And I thought doing a diesel conversion was going to be difficult
  15. That other one is a bit of a mess but that's a rare one and probably worth £25,000+ when done and it's beautiful shape.
  16. Not even sure that's an alfa colour unless it's the green they used on the spider circa 1977/80 ? Don't understand why you would do that but there you go?
  17. That doesn't look right to me the colours wrong and it should have a side stripe I think with trofeo on the back wing. You'd have to check . If you want something like that it needs to be original or re done to original spec really.
  18. Yes I think that will be the one to go . Shame just put an mot and tax. On it . Nobody seems interested in buying it it's got Bose sport leather and connect + thought someone would have wanted it for bits! That also makes it hard to get rid as it's basically a good car everything works except the engine.just don't have the cash at the mo. Silly as it would be worth £700 with an engine.
  19. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1960-Alfa-Romeo-Giulietta-Sprint-/331031317062?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4d13010a46 What about this
  20. I managed to find a 2.4 sw very rough but good motor . Thing is the guy hasn't got back to me yet . So you never know . There is a lot of cheap GTV s out there at the mo so that's not a bad idea either. Just trying to fathom out what to do with a 147 and a 164 there has got to be somthing better than the scrap yard no matter how fiddly it is. I've had Alfas all my life must be somthing I can cobble together with what I've got .
  21. Have you got a large G clamp and a socket ?
  22. Think to be honest your going to have to get it drilled out. Have you tried putting a 2 nuts on it tightening them together on the thread leaving some thread then try doing it up see if you can get some movement on it . Have you got any plus gas as this seems to work better in my opinion with corrosion than wd at loosening things. You may find if you try drilling it, it might create enough heat and vibration to help free it. Did you use a scissor type joint splitter or the fork type?
  23. Well we can dream Think it's all I got left now.
  24. Yeah you got to watch the rust it would need sorting straight away properly. They are great fun to drive proper little go carts. Sounds like it could get expensive if the windscreen scuttle is going though. Would need to get a expert to look it over and give you an estimate to be safe. Having said that it is thirty years old . So at least you should get free road tax. And classic insurance.
  25. Ok thought as much . Just trying to find a cheapish way to get the car back on the road but looks like I've ground to a halt. One car two engines and no go . May have to resort to fitting a chain and some pedals he hehe.
