    Hello!

    Hello and welcome.
  3. Smaky, do you physically have to adjust the rod? If so where is it found and is there a how to guide?
  4. Flew through with not one issue. Thanks for posting the Testers Guide Smaky
  5. Firstly you might not have to. It could be the sensors, actuator rod. Lots of possibilities. Smaky is our resident mechanic guru and I'm sure he'll offer up suggestions.
  6. Good enough for me. Otherwise I find it difficult to plaster lmfao Shocking ain't it. Lol It has gone a touch wayward though...
  7. I use a b&q trade card and that puts the Dover branch cheaper than Ashfords Screwfix.... Oh wait, that's wicks
  8. Thanks for the heads up. The "plan" isn't just for indies or car specific stuff, I want to go off and get what I can, from where I can that may benefit AD members.
  9. At the moment the talks are local. However, if I can get the likes of Europarts on board down here, that can be used as collateral nationally. I can and am more than happy to talk to any business anywhere in the country so if there's something specific you want targeted pm the details and ill have a crack at them.
  10. Not really. The Modded scene was dying on its arse, I had personal issues plus I took over as Operations Director for a steel stockholding firm in Oxford so I was too busy to give the time it needed
  11. Garages, motor factors, body shops an indi ice specialist and oddly a couple of b&b's (figured cos I'm in Dover that a few of you might use the port to get to Europe and may want a lay over before catching a ferry)
  12. ModRap+Ukmodified. All dead since the 4 of us who set them up handed it over to the next gen 5 years ago.
  13. Right, I am standing here right next to Mrs A. I too am for the forum and for its members. I want to do what I can for you guys drawing on the experience of being an administrator for a modified car forum with 8k members and 6k active members. I've got a rough idea of how these babies run. Yes I'm new here, no I don't know you all very well but I do understand this game, the costs involved and how it works. Which for the record is with your input. Don't treat me like a child, it's insulting. If you genuinely feel so passionate about Alfa Driver, use it creatively, not negatively. Since I've joined here, with the permission of Fi I've actively sought out discounts for members, spoken to all the major show grounds re 2013 and I'm working WITH the Founders to build a strong and unified corporate image, which will enable the production of the merchandise that YOU want. I intend on bringing ALL the reps together to discuss local and national meets/events/shows etc and to come up with ideas to generate revenue. Again this can only be done by working together and all pulling in the same direction.
  14. I should have quoted Mrs A when she said "its better this way". I'm interested to know why it's better to keep quiet.
  15. I'll ignore the sarcasm and put the question to you again.. Why keep it zipped? Surely all input, whether actioned or not, is valid input?
  16. Doesn't that defeat the object of a member lead forum?
  17. That is possibly the sexiest arse I've ever seen....
  18. Cheers Morgan.... I wanted this one 1000000000000x40000000000000 but Moki said no......
  19. That's fair enough and it's why my post was created, to bring it all together and unified. I agree with what you are saying about the donations and where it's going, how it's being spent etc and these bits kinda fall under my remit and are being addressed. As I understand it, you folks are here because you don't like the direction another site has gone and you chose to be here with people you like and trust. That you wanted to set up a site that was run by a democracy not as a commercial entity. (I think that further discussion of these particular issues should be continued but not publicaly and in an area where others can be involved.)
  20. Would Tesco, Argos, Alfa take all their badges off whilst they were being redesigned? That's kinda my point when I say about what goes on behind the scenes. Waz takes his time to do them and doesn't charge a GD fee. It's appreciated by all that you and others do donate Mrs A. The point is one or two members donating wont get everything that the majority are asking for.
  21. Corporate sponsorship - Lets address this... Corporate Sponsorship is an interesting way of generating revenue from "selling" the site, whilst maintaining a modicum of control. Much like floating on the stock market. It's run and maintained in much the same way, the owners are still there but they have to "report" back to the Sponsor. The Sponsor generates a profit by selling advertising space on the site and also charges Site Traders an annual fee. To get sponsorship in such a way the site has to have "value" both financially and in terms of traffic. Currently AD has a value of £308.90 with traffic no greater than 300 PCM (roughly £1.70 per person). We are ranked out of all the Uk's websites at the 1,518,133th spot. Compare this to another site with similar content. Value - £30,990 Traffic - 90,996 visits PCM. Uk ranking - 5,216 Corporate Sponsorship is a non starter at the moment IMO. Fliers - Unless Alfabouy has changed the format and wording of the flyers, they can be found using the search function or here http://www.alfadriver.com/forum/index.php/topic/578-alfadriver-flyers/page__hl__flyers These can be printed out at home and distributed whenever you see an Alfa. With regard to Show spec flyers, there's stuff in the pipeline. Members - As you are all aware the majority of owners who use forums are registered elsewhere. With this in mind, some bridge building or partnerships may be required. 2013 is gonna be a big year for AD with many shows and events being researched and discussed. I have put forward an idea for a "Show Pack" which will attract attention at shows and hopefully members. Not getting too stuck in the "Alfa Only" rutt. We are, after all Car enthusiasts so we should welcome all makes. As Mr Clarkeson said "....all true car enthusiasts should own an Alfa at some point in their lives..." Money and Merchandise - A catch 22 situation for the Founders and Members alike. To provide merchandise, we need funds for stock and setup costs, print runs, etc. If every registered member donated £1 we would be able to set up the shop quickly. There are 800+ registered members BUT less than 70% are active users. This would mean that a donation of £5-10 per person who actively uses the forum. This may seem like a lot for "nothing" BUT think of the advice and Services Smaky offers. The time he takes to write "How To Guides", the help he gives members. Then consider the time taken by those behind the scenes who run and maintain the site. The cost involved for updating and upgrading the site. The list goes on. When you look at it like this and consider that we are not charged to register, a ten quid donation for a great community that is full of fun, advice and friendship is well worth it. Who will be the first to donate?
