Hand brake lever seems to have come off where its attached.It still ratchets up but a lot further than normal lots of play and looking inside gaiter there is a nut with a round bar just sitting there.Its dark and cant do much at the mo.Whats happened and i never over pull lever

The holes should be for machine screws(bolts with a slotted head like a screw)dont use self tapping screws.You have to drill the boot lid as if you try to stick it with tape it will end up through someones windscreen.
