Not at all. Off the road, needing 1x handbrake cable, 2x tyres for the test, and subsequently a VIC check because she's had the driver's door pushed in, replaced and resprayed (dead chuffed with that, you literally cannot tell she's had a spray), £500. Also, as an aside; have you ever tried driving quickly (or even normally) with a large dog in the back of the car?

Indeed, Anj! Gotta love an undervalued monster. She runs beautifully, makes a wonderful turbocharged 5cyl noise and pulls HARD, but unfortunately rubs beautifully at lock too. I suspect this to be something to do with just how damn low she is - look at the wheel in the front arch. For the moment I'm thinking of simply... reshaping the arch liners to give clearance. Long term, probably coilovers, and raise her at least 10mm from where she sits now, more likely 20mm.

  4. What the f**k is that PT Cruiser doing in there? And more to the point, why did you feel the need to post it with the rest? :-P
  5. Make it swoopy No, more swoopy Thats not swoopy enough THERES NO SUCH THING AS TOO SWOOPY, make it look like someone let loose a bag of giant worms in there! Looks much, much, MUCH better in black. Like this oneooooooooohhhmmyyyygooooooooooodddddddddd. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1998-TVR-CERB ... 256e83f897 Also, a TVR that DOES look better inside than out? The Tamora. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-05-TVR-T ... 2ebb08dc7c And, one that looks good no matter which angle you look at it from? The Sagaris. Can't find a proper picture of the interior, but here's a small piece of it, plus the crazy tacho that goes the wrong way. *Edit* Here we go. Oh. FFS. It's four in the morning and I'm ogling cars I can't afford again.
  6. TBH, Over a disco, I'd still probably take a Stage 1.
  7. I'll take a G4 Disco over that pile, any day. In fact, any Disco, but preferably a 300TDi or 3 door V8i Disco 2. *Edit* Ah, here we go. This is more like it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Landrover-Dis ... 1e6c61ac1c
  8. The idea was for people who knew about them to advise, but I guess you're welcome. ^^
  9. Point those of you who have registered on RT over here; http://www.rovertech.net/forum/viewtopi ... 8&t=135393 aaand, here; http://www.rovertech.net/forum/viewtopi ... 8&t=135448 Taaaa.
  10. Ok, I've got just under six years, and my list goes; 2006 1. 1993 Peugeot 205 Style 1.8D. brilliant car. Bits fell off, and when I got it it needed a full new set of brake lines, but I tried to kill it and failed. There was a downside to it though - 0-60... sometimes, if the wind was right. 2. 1992 Rover 214 SLi - Loved it. Mint machine, inside and out, started life flame red over granddad grey, and Rich painted the lower halves of the doors, I finished it off with flame GSi bumpers and all black trim. 2007 3. 1998 Rover 820 Vitesse fastback - Still miss that machine. On and off the road (buggerdly RF immobiliser system) until June 2009 when it died an explosive death on the A3 on the way back from the Nürburgring. 2008 Erm, well, the Vitesse. Oh, and my ZXR 400, but I don't think we're counting that in this thread? 2009 4. 1991 Rover 216 GTi - ratty, surface rust on every panel - bought in November as a stop-gap, and to practice bodywork on. Never got much of a chance, as in Jan 2010 I encountered an MR2 on a steep, icy, muddy, slushy hill at some speed in it. 2010 5. 1998 Rover 416 Si - godawful. Swapped a bootload of T16 Turbo engine parts for it. Drove well enough, but just drab as all hell, and rather depressing. 6. 1994 Rover 420 GSi Turbo - bought as a restoration project, needing some welding. One of just over 50 left on the road, by all accounts. 2011 7. 1993 Rover 820 Vitesse fastback - beautiful BRG 180PS car, bought from the OP, and unfortunately written off recently in the snow. :-( Another I'm sore about. 8. 1995 Rover 820 Vitesse fastback - not sure this one counts, though Rich has kinda already given it to me - bought between Rich and myself for a banger rally in June, but turned out to be a nail, needing hundreds of pounds of parts to make it properly roadworthy. Due to be rebuilt using parts from my BRG Vitesse, which is supplying all the parts we'd have needed to get it on the road in the first place.
  11. I've yet to drive a ZS, can't really judge them tbh. They do look better from the outside though, which is something with the 400/45 shape. It crossed my mind when I had my 416 and was looking at it from the front - it actually does look like a Downs' child. Big wide eyes, nose too high, massive sloping forehead...
  12. Much as I'd probably not own another, I love the power delivery and the exhaust note of the K16. Fully agree with you on HHR 400s/45s though - drive well enough, but bland, uninspiring, and just generally slightly depressing to be behind the wheel of.
  13. That's because they're underrated, very quick for very little cash, easy and cheap to repair and maintain.
  14. By sweet, fictitious God Almighty, she looks better for those headlights. I don't think I've ever actually seen this car clean... :-P Do they (unlike the ones that came with the car) actually light up the road ahead of you?
  15. The dash surrounding the clocks on those has always made me think of the sandworms in Dune. Someone just wasn't on form the day they penned the interior of the Cerberas.
  16. This is my current daily, very kindly on loan from Alex SBY until I can use all the parts I have here at my disposal to rebuild one of the Vitesses - the one I was stripping for parts! 287,000 mile 1993 Rover 827 Sterling fastback in British Racing Green, with a beige/cream leather interior. Rare machine because it's a manual! Been out for a drive this evening... Taking photos of my mate on his SV650, and so while I had the camera, and some nice setting sunlight, I thought I'd snap a few of the 827. Really do love the way this thing drives, it's tight, smooth, lacks body roll, feels pretty stiff and responsive. Gratuitous pictures, please excuse that she's not clean - I didn't have time to clean her this afternoon before Will turned up and dragged me out with the camera. Plans basically are simply to tidy her up - rusty arches and a badly patched sill, lacquer peel on the roof to be blown over, new plates (because yes, I am aware they're pretty manky) and replace the grille with a non rusty one. There's also a couple of oddball modifications to be rectified - when I got the car, it had a bright silver gear knob with eight bright green flashing lights in the top of it. Not sure why, but it was gone within about an hour, replaced with a standard one out of my crashed Vitesse. Also some hideous tweeters have been fitted, by machinating the standard tweeter grilles to fit them outside them. Again, not really sure why you'd do that, but I have a couple of spares that will go in the car. Darkened headlights also don't really work with the car, I don't think; they make the indicators stand out and look odd, so I'll put a set of nice crisp original headlights in her.
  17. No, doable in situ, just very awkward, and requires expensive specialist tools to lock it.
  18. Doesn't it just. Gawrsch. At that price, the ZT is likely to need the belt doing, and good luck finding someone who'll do a belt on a KV6 for less than about 1500 odd.
  19. Mr. P156 speaks sense. And a Galant, not a Legnum. Yes, estates are cool, but the saloon looks far better. Plus you can retrofit an Evo IV or VI spoiler and it looks excellent. Not often you'll hear me say that, I don't tend to prefer saloon body types on anything.
  20. And on topic; http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-moto ... o/97441812 Not a facelift, but it's the right colour, and I suppose, being a Mk2a, it doesn't have the plastic rub strips that tend to fade so horrifically.
  21. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2711125.htm Murrrrrr.... One or two omissions, namely the wrong interior and the lack of an Mi16, but still, WANT. Also, not exactly cheap really, but c'mon, there's got to be some 309 lovers on here? *Edit* http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1990-H-PEUGEO ... 3f147491eb Hnnnnnnnnnngggggghhhhhh.....
