Not at all. Off the road, needing 1x handbrake cable, 2x tyres for the test, and subsequently a VIC check because she's had the driver's door pushed in, replaced and resprayed (dead chuffed with that, you literally cannot tell she's had a spray), £500. Also, as an aside; have you ever tried driving quickly (or even normally) with a large dog in the back of the car?

Indeed, Anj! Gotta love an undervalued monster. She runs beautifully, makes a wonderful turbocharged 5cyl noise and pulls HARD, but unfortunately rubs beautifully at lock too. I suspect this to be something to do with just how damn low she is - look at the wheel in the front arch. For the moment I'm thinking of simply... reshaping the arch liners to give clearance. Long term, probably coilovers, and raise her at least 10mm from where she sits now, more likely 20mm.

  4. What the f**k is that PT Cruiser doing in there? And more to the point, why did you feel the need to post it with the rest? :-P
  5. Make it swoopy No, more swoopy Thats not swoopy enough THERES NO SUCH THING AS TOO SWOOPY, make it look like someone let loose a bag of giant worms in there! Looks much, much, MUCH better in black. Like this oneooooooooohhhmmyyyygooooooooooodddddddddd. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1998-TVR-CERB ... 256e83f897 Also, a TVR that DOES look better inside than out? The Tamora. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-05-TVR-T ... 2ebb08dc7c And, one that looks good no matter which angle you look at it from? The Sagaris. Can't find a proper picture of the interior, but here's a small piece of it, plus the crazy tacho that goes the wrong way. *Edit* Here we go. Oh. FFS. It's four in the morning and I'm ogling cars I can't afford again.
  6. TBH, Over a disco, I'd still probably take a Stage 1.
  7. I'll take a G4 Disco over that pile, any day. In fact, any Disco, but preferably a 300TDi or 3 door V8i Disco 2. *Edit* Ah, here we go. This is more like it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Landrover-Dis ... 1e6c61ac1c
  8. The idea was for people who knew about them to advise, but I guess you're welcome. ^^

  10. Ok, I've got just under six years, and my list goes; 2006 1. 1993 Peugeot 205 Style 1.8D. brilliant car. Bits fell off, and when I got it it needed a full new set of brake lines, but I tried to kill it and failed. There was a downside to it though - 0-60... sometimes, if the wind was right. 2. 1992 Rover 214 SLi - Loved it. Mint machine, inside and out, started life flame red over granddad grey, and Rich painted the lower halves of the doors, I finished it off with flame GSi bumpers and all black trim. 2007 3. 1998 Rover 820 Vitesse fastback - Still miss that machine. On and off the road (buggerdly RF immobiliser system) until June 2009 when it died an explosive death on the A3 on the way back from the Nürburgring. 2008 Erm, well, the Vitesse. Oh, and my ZXR 400, but I don't think we're counting that in this thread? 2009 4. 1991 Rover 216 GTi - ratty, surface rust on every panel - bought in November as a stop-gap, and to practice bodywork on. Never got much of a chance, as in Jan 2010 I encountered an MR2 on a steep, icy, muddy, slushy hill at some speed in it. 2010 5. 1998 Rover 416 Si - godawful. Swapped a bootload of T16 Turbo engine parts for it. Drove well enough, but just drab as all hell, and rather depressing. 6. 1994 Rover 420 GSi Turbo - bought as a restoration project, needing some welding. One of just over 50 left on the road, by all accounts. 2011 7. 1993 Rover 820 Vitesse fastback - beautiful BRG 180PS car, bought from the OP, and unfortunately written off recently in the snow. :-( Another I'm sore about. 8. 1995 Rover 820 Vitesse fastback - not sure this one counts, though Rich has kinda already given it to me - bought between Rich and myself for a banger rally in June, but turned out to be a nail, needing hundreds of pounds of parts to make it properly roadworthy. Due to be rebuilt using parts from my BRG Vitesse, which is supplying all the parts we'd have needed to get it on the road in the first place.
  11. I've yet to drive a ZS, can't really judge them tbh. They do look better from the outside though, which is something with the 400/45 shape. It crossed my mind when I had my 416 and was looking at it from the front - it actually does look like a Downs' child. Big wide eyes, nose too high, massive sloping forehead...
  12. Much as I'd probably not own another, I love the power delivery and the exhaust note of the K16. Fully agree with you on HHR 400s/45s though - drive well enough, but bland, uninspiring, and just generally slightly depressing to be behind the wheel of.
