I cant remember if its a freebie on sky, I think it is. In fact I'm pretty sure it is. Its the best channel in the world. Shows some proper motorsport, from rally cross to the baja 1000 races... not to mention full coverage of the lemans 24hr. If you like BTCC, you have to watch the v8's. Its like btcc but with proper engines and mental aussies at the wheel. Motorstv only show a condensed version of most races, 2 70+ lap races in a 2hr show, only the bathurst 1000 is live iirc. But its still an absolute must see.

For anyone interested.. Round 2 from Tasmania is showing on Motors TV on saturday at 5:20pm. And they seem to have finally sorted out series link on sky+

If they're good quality, hubcentric, not stupidly deep and have longer bolts, I wouldn't worry about track use if it was me.

Yeah thin ones are shit. Less than 10 or so and you can't make them hubcentric so you have wheel balance issues and they're so thin they end up cracking. Having a 3mm spacer let go and fall out at 60mph, sideways, is not a pleasant experience

Yep, hubcentric are the ones to go for, they keep the same diameter centre bore for the alloys to locate onto. You only need to worry about the extra load on bearings if you have stupid ones, 50 mm etc. 10/12 wont make a difference.

Pay more and get ones that are made for the car. Universal ones always throw out the wheel balance in my experience.

I hate to say it, but I agree with smaky on this one. If you have to do something, get them plated, but they really dont need anything done to them, they're fine as they are... The key to successful modding is knowing when to stop.

unsprung weight makes a massive difference, even with very small amounts. As had been said, a small amount of static weight transfers to a lot of rotational weight. The single most noticeable mod I ever did to the drift e30 was a set of magnesium oz superleggeras. 11kg per wheel, with tyres. Acceleration, cornering, braking, everything was improved a huge amount. Alongside increasing power to weight ratio, reducing unsprung weight is one of the most important things you can do to improve a car.

With the right prep there's no reason painted handles wouldn't be as hard wearing as any other painted metal body part... Like the entire body. But they're a solid gorgeous lump of metal, no other car I know of has solid metal handles. They're a stand-out feature of the 156. I hate to go all boring and smaky on you, but it would be criminal to colour code them imho. Having them electro-plated in that 'black chrome' finish would look bloody awesome tho...
