Starbright 9 Report post Posted March 23, 2014 So, got round to some further work on my baby. Engine is all sweet, last time I got the thermostat replaced and the door seal done, so it was onto more cosmetic work. Took her into Simply Alfas to get the bumper scrape the last owner did painted and the alloys refurbished. The before pictures show the damage (yeah, I know it's not too bad, but I'm a perfectionist!) and the slight rust on the inner circles of the alloys (and the kerbing damage the previous owner had done too... ). After, shiny and cleaned up.

Starbright 9 Report post Posted March 24, 2014 Blue Vela, fantastic colour to polish up. It's such a gorgeous rich colour, looks fabulous in the sunlight. Really cannot wait till easter to get started on it fully.
Smaky 73 Report post Posted March 24, 2014 I just did my 146 last week which is the same colour, left her out front now so I can see the morning sun glisten off the shinny corners.
Starbright 9 Report post Posted March 24, 2014 I just did my 146 last week which is the same colour, left her out front now so I can see the morning sun glisten off the shinny corners. Oooh! Any pictures? I'm anticipating a 2 day job - just hoping the weather is nice.
Smaky 73 Report post Posted March 25, 2014 If I can tax and insure her in time I may bring her to the Clent meeting.
Starbright 9 Report post Posted March 25, 2014 Beautiful Smaky, bet she looks even better in the sun. On the rare days we get it!
Smaky 73 Report post Posted March 25, 2014 Well that was this AM through the window during the rain which you can see beading nicely down the side of the car.
Starbright 9 Report post Posted March 25, 2014 Very similar to mine this morning too! The last time I used Dodo Juice in Blue Velvet and it's stayed fantastically well.
Smaky 73 Report post Posted March 25, 2014 I'm an AutoGlym guy, I get it at cost so not too bothered, anyway just looking at that pic again reminded me that I hadn't fitted the clear side repeaters, but that is corrected now.
Starbright 9 Report post Posted March 25, 2014 I normally use Autoglym but a friend who had a dark Porsche recommended the Dodo Juice. It was a good recommendation. I need to change my side repeaters to clear but they are being an utter pain to remove.

Starbright 9 Report post Posted March 30, 2014 Just put a stick behind them and tap them forwards. Well, I got them done, but it was more a 'rip them out using a flat head screwdriver'... Luckily no paint damage but they were pretty much molded on with dirt. Still, she looks awesome now...
