Battery "jacket"

Recommended Posts

I've just had my battery replaced by a national exhaust and battery type place. I noticed that the old battery had a sort of material wrapped round it. Now it's been replaced. Does anyone know if the jacket belonged to the car or the battery?

I think it's a wrap around, so it should belong to whichever battery you have in there.

I'm ready to be proved wrong though :D

I reckon you're right. If so, anyone know where I can get a replacement? It really winds me up when people do this. I can see the gap between tray edge and battery.

It is part of the car, they must have just taken the battery off and left it on the battery instead of swapping it onto the new 1 so they could still have it. the other thing is, they might have changed the battery and not had the same size battery to go back in (height/width i mean) so it wouldn't have fitted. i might have the 1 of my GTA still if you are stuck with out 1. id have to have a look for it though as i don't know where it would be (or if i still even have it)

It's there to soak up spilt acid and shouldn't be handled without gloves on, I have loads of them lying around should you be desperate for one, but I've rarely bothered with them.
