When I said the symptoms straight away he said cam sensor, and ok labour charge for 1 hour is a lil steep but at least it's going to a specialists!

The recovery bloke said yesterday my Spark plugs are in good nick so I won't change those!

Sounds like a "thanks, but no thanks" ad then let Pet have a look.

Or, you could shout "HELP!!!" and see if Smaky can sort it?

HELP!!!!!! Car runs and plan to take it back on M5, keeping below 3,000rpm so around 65mph!

I can't see why it won't it made it down here.

If it does need cam, Variator drive belt etc then I'd rather Pete do the work than a non Alfa specialist.

It did it! The old girl did the 133 mile trip! I could cry, now in traffic heading to cloverleaf.

Glad she made it!

Now the trouble really starts!

£590 + VAT

Phase sensor + cambelt + Variator!

Outward the cost of the car as I paid £475.

It's not worth it so it!

Bloody hell! .... by the time you've stuck VAT on that you're talking £700, near as damn it.

Bye bye 156...... :nonono:

Buy a replacement engine for just over £1k!

Unfortunately this means the end of the 156, and end of Alfa's for a while!

Breaking it or just taking it to Harry's?
