  1. For Sale, a beautiful 09 2 litre JTS Selespeed 156 Veloce 47k miles as I remember. Car's been stood for a year as it requires a new clutch and release bearing - and we know just how fiddly a job it is. Plus a few other niggling things doing. She's black, fully loaded - the leather seats are fantastic. NO rust! I'm in Manchester/Bury and the car will need a transporter to take her away. A good clean and she would be stunning. These are getting rare now with only 28 left according to "How Many Left" Serious offers please. ASAP. I'd hate to see a future classic car scrapped. Plus I'll miss her
  2. Yep, please don't have her cubed!
  3. That's really sad When I did that, half-asleep, it was to a Nissan Micra so it didn't really matter I really hope she gets sorted, any news?
  4. Yep, they're an absolute mess on our Mito. I've just taken one off and it's sat in a citric acid bath to remove the rust. If there's anything left of it after that, I'll give it a coat of silver enamel to see if that makes a big difference. If not, it's chrome covers...
  5. Are they made from rust recycled from 1980s Alfas?
  6. have a word with the boys at Warrington, if it's anywhere it'll be there. Cheers, Smacky! Turns out that Bauer Millett in central Manchester (9 miles away) have 3 in stock at 78p each Oh, and just won a set of JTS timing belt tools on fleaBay for £16 - cam locks, variator tool, tensioner tools etc. I'm happy
  7. Any luck in finding out what was wrong with the old one? Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-4
  8. OK, thanks. The trouble is trying to find a pinch bolt now. First online Alfa parts place don't have them, and the local Alfa dealer couldn't be arsed to reply to me. Anyone know of an on-line place or somewhere that's close to Manchester that sells 'em? Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-4
  9. Thanks for the reply, Smaky. Although reading about I'm not sure if I need one... A clutch (not gearbox out) on a 2003 156 Selespeed - do you need to remove the actuator to move the box to one side? If you don't remove the actuator, do you have to piss about with the subframe instead? Driveshafts? Confused...
  10. I think it's Part No. 46545861 Anyone know if that's right?
  11. Hi there, Does anyone know the part number for the actuator pinch bolt please? Thanks. Steve
  12. Of course, people could always PM me for more information ;-) Sent from my HTC Desire HD.
  13. Hi everyone, Dunno if this has been posted before, but just in case... If anyone needs the workshop manual for the 156, here's the iso for it: LINK REMOVED BY ALFABHOY Hope this helps? Sorry folks but we can't publish this link here as it's for an ISO (disk image) file uploaded to dropbox rather than to the provider of the disk - alfabhoy
  14. Great. Really appreciated. Thanks! Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using Tapatalk
  15. Any luck? Sent from my HTC Desire HD using Tapatalk
  16. Just make sure the replacement's from a post 03 car - I have heard that they cured the problem on them. Sent from my HTC Desire HD using Tapatalk
  17. I'd like to see the RB in more detail - it looks to have an odd inlet on the stepped part of the nose. We might find out more after tomorrow's testing... Sent from my HTC Desire HD using Tapatalk
  18. Cool! Cheers Smaky. Couldn't get out to make the brace - I didn't fancy nearly a foot of snow and -5... Sent from my HTC Desire HD using Tapatalk
  19. Gonna knock up an engine brace, along the lines of the official tool, tomorrow... Any progress on the guide, Smaky? Your infinite Selespeed wisdom would be appreciated Regards, Steve
  20. Hey everyone, Thanks for the replies. A how-to would be really good and very, very much appreciated! Cheers, Steve Sent from my HTC Desire HD using Tapatalk
  21. Hi everyone, I have asked this on the AO forum, but people there weren't very helpful - maybe it's because I'm a forum newbie over there... Anyway, has anyone here done a clutch change on a 2003 156 JTS Selespeed that could give me some help & advice please? I'm a qualified mechanic, but I've never attempted a Selespeed before and without a decent workshop manual I'm a bit worried about doing it... Oh, and this isn't somebody else's car, she's mine and she's just sat there on the drive Cheers! Steve
