  1. Actually tbh, I've seen evidence of the C1's handling. Rich and I were blatting round some windy little Southern France D roads, having an enormous hoot in the van, and we got behind a C1 when we came into a little village, which then proceeded to continue along the route we were taking for about six miles of twisty, undulating, camber/off cambered, horribly surfaced twisty roads that had our adrenaline up enormously. We managed to keep up with this C1, Rich pushing quite hard in the van, which I have to say, handles fantastically now it's dropped and stiffened a little. Got to the next little town, passed the C1 as it turned off and I looked over to find a fat 50y/o woman behind the wheel.

But it's so unsettling, still. I've had time to come to terms with you in a position of power. And it still doesn't compute.

I did wonder if Foxy posting a link to AD on RT was a great move... As Munky said above, it's a great forum, I've made some great friends through it, and learned a tremendous amount. It just unfortunately houses some complete wangjockeys; but in the spirit of free speech, peace and love, and Political Correctness, it's wrong to get shot of them until they actually break a forum rule or two. Irritating. If the ban hammer were in different (my) hands, it'd be another matter.
  4. Not without reason, you have to give me that much...
  5. For the love of GOD Daniel. Put a new grille on her!
  6. Aye, I'm talking to the mentallist right now, as a matter of fact. Also, Hallo Volf. Didn't realise you'd registered here.
  7. ... I don't think I like having you in charge. It makes me antsy.
  8. Bam. Thank you, Morgan - Joe, no excuse. And as far as first to ask for free stickers goes, I know I'm not staff, but I do have several pictures of our dear Joseph with which to bargain/threaten...
  9. Ah. Yeah, I wondered if that might be the case - I've never seen another white saloon. That was the Tickford I came quite close to buying.
  10. I hope not, as a white saloon will have been one of the very early, development cars, and probably the only one left, since I know that Scott's was scrapped by the next owner after it lunched a piston. All the PG1s had plastic caged bearings, and yes it was a laughable cost cutting exercise, as was most of the changes Rover made post '96; but it's the reason they used a Boost Modulation Valve to limit boost (and therefore torque) levels in 1st and 2nd gear, rather than a simple ball and spring affair that many replace it with, then give it death with full boost in first - which is what explodes diff bearings. I did have a lovely set of steel caged 6208s for my Vitesse's PG1, but after the Vit died and I had the shunt that rendered the idea of insuring a GP17 car null, I got stuffed by the guy who I sold them to, who claimed that they never turned up and demanded a refund. Wish I'd never bothered listing them now, as I'd be roughly £350 better off, and I'd have a set of excellent bearings for the 420.
  11. A white Tickford saloon? What happened to it? Hairline cracks in the solder on the fusebox thanks to years of temperature fluctuation, and the broken diff bearings just means someone gave it a rough life - twattish power launches and efforts at wheelspinning. Crunchy gear changes into reverse is because if the gearbox oil hasn't been changed often enough, the synchros develop a tendency not to disengage, simple way to prevent that is to put it into third and fourth, then into reverse.
  12. I'm up to a count of six - a flying start in any effort to catch Foxy, considering the comaparative length of driving history. 1992 214 SLi (flame red, immaculate) 1998 820 Vitesse fastback (flame red, not far off) 1991 216 GTi Twin Cam (drab silver ratty runabout that I ended horribly) 1997 416 Si (drab silver ratty runabout that I'm breaking) 1995 820 Vitesse fastback (woodcote green - bought for a banger rally, turned out to be an epic death shed, so I'm breaking it) 1994 420 GSi Turbo (flame red - my long term project - and before you say it Joe, yes, it will see the road again.) You may notice that I have a thing for flame red. I also was close to having one of the first Tickford 820s, and also an M16 220 GTi that had been track prepped.
  13. I want another Vit. I mean, another-nother one. The one I've got now is an epic ratty death shed. Also, how many damn smileys have you nicked from Rovertech already, Joe? Every time I look there's more here...

    Horrifying.

*shrugs* She rolled it into a bank in the snow, and it in fact never saw a ditch, but hey. Believe what you will, you're still an ass. And because of it, I'm not going to steal smileys from RT for you.
  17. Vard66

    Horrifying.

No, that was also Ma driving.
  18. Vard66

    Horrifying.

    No, that was ma's Forester.
  19. Vard66

    Horrifying.

Actually, I sold the ZXR, and aptly enough, despite having three Rovers on my driveway, I'm driving a dillapidated old Legacy.

    Horrifying.

The thought of a whole forum with monsieur munky in any position of power. It's unthinkable. How have you all allowed this to happen?
