  1. yep all windows firmly shut. are the seals fixable or is it a case of getting a whole new one fitted?
  2. nope, no sunroof. the water is getting into the footwell just at the front of the kickplate on the door sill. but i'd imagine the water is getting into the seals somewhere else and gravity is letting it trickle down to that point.
  3. driver's door seal is leaking - noticed the car was misting up a lot and then the driver's footwell was piss wet through. can't seem to find any bit of loose seal, but can see where the water's getting into the footwell any ideas on how to find the broken bit and fix it?
  4. yep my old 156 was the same, you could turn the QE2 round quicker
  5. p/s fluid level looks fine, although gus gave it a slight top-up just in case. i doubt it's the alternator - if the car's stationary and in neutral, turn the wheel and it whines like a bitch. alternator would only whine more with revs?
  6. took it over to gus this evening, he reckons almost certainly new pump as it sounds like the bearings have gone. £450 fitted on top of £60 windscreen excess last week, road tax last month... i fuckin hate cars sometimes
  7. Power steering problem? went down the shop last night, as soon as i started up the car i could hear a strange whining noise. never had it at all before. it sounds almost like a gearbox whine, but it's worst when turning at low speed. it's also still there when stationary in neutral and you turn the wheel. which leads me to think it must be something to do with the power steering, pump maybe? anyone had this problem before? if it is the pump: A) is it a big job to replace, how much ££ ? am i ok driving it until friday which is the earliest opprtunity i have to get it to the garage? cheers al
  8. 4x4's never get let out. partially because i don't want to be sitting in traffic behind a great big brick wall of a thing, but mainly cos they're driven by complete twats
  9. welcome aboard james - long time no see
  10. in the dark. when you're facing the other way...
  11. i've driven pablos's autodelta supercharged 3.7 a few times 345 bhp it was running, utterly mental. laugh out loud, addictively fast, but undriveable in 2nd if you were giving it any beans. docile if you just pootle around though... i'd buy it in a heartbeat
  12. yep cracking value - his belonged to a bloke who'd gone working abroad but then said he was prob staying out permanently so sold it him for £1500
  13. my 159 failed its MOT in january cos the headlights were aiming too low, and the twats cherged me about £30 just to put that right any ideas on how to a) check the aim and change it up/down if it ain't right?
  14. mate of mine had a late 90's S8 a few years back, that was a monster of a car
  15. i'm warming a little bit to the mito, but still not convinced. the giulietta is a good looking car, especially the back. yes it does look a bit astra-ish but lets face it the astra's actually not a bad looking thing is it? still don't like the front on a giulietta though - REALLY don't like it. alfa need to ditch the whole bug eyed thing - having a vast blank expanse of nothing in between the shield and the lights looks cack even on a medium sized car like the G, i shudder to think how shit it would look on a big saloon
  16. current brainwave is an RS4, to complete my almost-perfected 'twat' look
  17. i had a p-reg almera saloon 1.6 as a short term company car once. luckily, i remembered to not take any pictures of it
  18. fuckin page break was talking about keithy's monster cadillac on ebay an old M5 is a cracking idea - only problem is maintenance/repair costs would be gruesome, no? what about a 535i?
  19. ^ ^ we have a winner need to get a high quality pimp outfit to go with that caddy though, awesome
  20. sorry 4x4's are out - i am neither a farmer nor a footballer's wife nor do i have a tiny cock
  21. just been having a discussion in the office about carbon footprint - which led me to the decision that my next car might just have to be a big fuck off gas guzzler just to piss the eco mentalists off. my mileage is now down to reasonable levels (could prob keep it under 12k a year if i tried), so the fuel costs wouldn't be crippling. and big fat gas guzzlers will become so unpopular that no fecker will want one, and hence prices should carry on tumbling, so all in all it won't cost me any more than buying a nice efficient diesel so.... recommendations please (nothing ancient as i don't want something that'll be breaking down every month)
