  1. How would Shelley feel about that?!
  2. I can't see yours, Smiffy.
  3. I think you can only see them if you are also on an iphone.
  4. Yay! Welcome to the club! Btw your smilies won't show up here unless you do them manually ..
  5. Manufacturers spec says cambelt every 70k but it's known to be a problem with petrol cars at least and most owners wouldn't run a car over 36k without booking a change including water pump each time. Ours went at 52k.
  6. Go for it, Trev! We've had lots of Alfas over the years and (touching wood) no problems apart from a cambelt going on the 156. Twice. Which, frankly, was pure bad luck and the first one the engine was rebuilt by Alfa (so obviously they acknowledged it shouldn't have happened). The second time was probably down to not replacing the water pump on the first rebuild. But it's a great car, and a great community of drivers, especially here! We have meets and stuff, as well as the "Alfa wave" from other like minded individuals! Let us know how it goes!

I'm sorry but the beemer is silver and therefore boring. I don't care if it's got a Ferrari 5.6L engine in it.
  8. Lots of steel, I think! I think it is 3.5 tonnes. But then I have to tow 3 tonnes so needs to be heavy.
  9. My car weighs more than that. Did anyone else think "If the van is rockin', don't come knockin'"?

    Beautiful

That's not what the badge says.

I wouldn't. I'd agree with you. I'd sell one of the kids for an 8C.
  12. 14th? Depends on the weather but remind me nearer the time

    4X4's

You're paying more for the badge at a dealer/second hand place. And you'll never get what your GTA is worth there either. You need an enthusiast to buy it.

    4X4's

You do know that the Porsche Cayenne is generally agreed to be the car that people with more money than taste buy, don't you?!

    4X4's

Older Range Rovers are very wallowy and bouncy especially in the back, so if your kids get travel sick, best avoided. I love my Terrano, but they've not made them in a while. The Evoque looks like footballer's car to me, but we went on a 4x4 driving experience in the latest Landrover discovery and the guy who took us around said that actually it performs very well. It's a Marmite thing, I think.
  16. I agree. Not generally a fan of whilte but this does look good. Still can't stand silver/grey cars although the stromboli grey ones are nice but that's more of a gunmetal colour.
  17. Indeed. You could actually claim quite a lot. But you said you're not going to.
  18. If you don't get what you want, ombudsman or small claims court. Incidentally, I always go for a £0 voluntary excess - the difference in premium isn't much and the amount you get back if necessary could be.
  19. Name and shame the insurance company. Better still, I'll have a stab at guessing. Norwich Union.
  20. Did you pay for legal cover? You could see if that will help you claim against the garage. You could easily have whiplash, you know, after a crash like that ...
  21. I rang for a quote and it was nearly double my existing insurance. The car (and I) are both a year older, but nothing else has changed. Pretty sure I rang in August, too.
