fady 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2015 My symptoms are that in the morning I start the car, select first gear and can drive, if I try selecting second or reverse, car flashes in 1 and after many attempts I can only put it in reverse and try shifting again. As soon as I drive off if I try to select 2 without going hard in 1 gear will drop and 1 flashes again can only go to R and from there 1. This happens a few times then stops after a bit of driving. Caf is usually ok for the rest of the day and usually only happens again in the morning. My fault codes are p0720, p1745, p1746 p1748, p1764. All of them can be cleared but they return after driving. A bloke gave me smaky's number but he ain't picking up so hope I can reach him hear as I've heard he's the most knowledgeable on selespeed
K9d 108 Report post Posted January 19, 2015 You've come to the right place, I'm sure Smaky will be along at some point, but he's not on here everyday so it may be a little wait. I know one of the common problems is the Clutch Rod Length, this needs to be about 28.5mm, but I can't help you more than that because Smaky did mine and I couldn't see what he was doing. fady 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2015 Mine is adjusted so I guess it's not that...
Smaky 73 Report post Posted January 30, 2015 I'd make sure it has been adjusted correctly, as it sounds like it's right on the limit, I'd ask that you check the gearbox/engine join for signs of oil, if it's dry then we are looking at a sensor/adjustment issue, if it's covered in gearbox oil then the front bearing has gone. fady 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2015 The selespeed unit is covered in oil gearbox itself isn't
fady 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2015 What's the front bearing? and where can I buy a replacement please
Smaky 73 Report post Posted January 31, 2015 This could be a split pipe from the pump to the actuator, meaning insufficient pressure during gear changes as well as low fluid level, if it's the bearing though then you'd require a gearbox rebuild and new clutch.
