Anjenha 44 Report post Posted April 5, 2012 I'm not a fan of BMWs. It's no secret. However I do prefer older ones, and am genuinely a sucker for '80s and early '90s car styling. But this M reg, softtop, M3 was the most blinged up ruined pile of BMW I have ever seen. Painted in purple green flick paint and with wheels the size of my house, which looked shiny enough to be chrome It also had a huge bore twin exhaust which sounded a bit like a dying giant The driver, who I didn't see, also tried to race me down the duel carriageway. Now, I shouldn't have won my car isn't a fast car, it's just very pretty. Clearly the BM driver was all mouth and no trousers
jhc 28 Report post Posted April 5, 2012 Or he's put a £3 ebay m3 badge on his 316...
Anjenha 44 Report post Posted April 5, 2012 I don't know or care The car looked a mess is the point... Poor bloody thing. There's a 316 at work that has been left to go mouldy Why do people do that
jhc 28 Report post Posted April 5, 2012 because they're just a good cheap car. Nothing more, nothing less. The more that are ruined, the better. That makes the remaining ones rarer. The same applies to all cars.
Anjenha 44 Report post Posted April 5, 2012 Thinking about it did they even do an early softtop M3? I see your point, re letting them go, but as an owner... My Nova was shit. It cost me £100. But I loved it, she didnt go rotten. Well, the passenger door did, but we fixed it... Ok, so it's a good cheap car, it doesn't mean it should be treated like an old dog two steps from the euthenasia needle. (the one at work) and the one on the way this morning... Ick... ruined
Morgan 46 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 Everything has a finite shelf life, it's juts the way these things go. Look at pretty much every "average" car you see on the road - all of those, if not smashed up at some point, will end up as £500 shitters, despite costing tens of thousands of pounds when shiny and new. And that's when Morgan pounces.
Anjenha 44 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 Mmm finite shelf life Now you have me thinking about barn finds... And hot hatches I still want to try rally cross, you see... My old Nova would have been perfect
