Smoke on idle

Recommended Posts

Singular and it's the base of the hose which comes off the back of the rocker cover next to the #4 injector and throttle body.

They don't so much stick but are held closed for too long by the spring whih is work ardened over its life in the engine, replacing this alone normally helps, but the parts have just taken me 6 months and 2 different agents to source.

The smokes back...

It's such a small amount, I can't tell what colour it is.. but it's there.. Noticed it today.. was about 36 degrees, Air Con on full, left the car idling as I had the my other half and my 2 year old in the car.. I ran into a shop to get a drink...

These breather valves you speak of Smaky.. you're talking about the PCV Valve yeah? If it is that causing the problem, where can I buy a new one?

Mine starts to smoke after a couple of seconds of starting her up then clears within 5mins of normal driving. Not much smoke but enough to see the odd wisp through the back window when idling.

It's done 136000 so someone suggested valve seals?

Smoke is white/greyish. No loss of coolant, engine temp smack on.

That would possibly be the stem seals, especially of the heads never been off
