GeTAway Al 1 Report post Posted July 12, 2011 I've got a rather annoying squeak on my twinny. Seems to be coming from front drivers side, but not suspension (doesn't always squeak over bumps, but does when steering). Would it be safe to say it's a worn CV joint? or is it something more sinister? Cheers fellas
Symon 1 Report post Posted July 13, 2011 I would guess it would be one of the ball joints. Either upper or lower. The trouble is replacing it meand a new arm.
Smaky 73 Report post Posted July 13, 2011 Can you pin point it a little better? maybe the column boot is squeaking when you turn the wheel.
GeTAway Al 1 Report post Posted July 14, 2011 i can't seem to pinpoint it to a single area. It sounds like a groaning/squeak, i can be parked up at the side of the road, turn my steering wheel and it will do it. Sorry guys
Smaky 73 Report post Posted July 17, 2011 I would suspect the boot at the base of the steering column may be dry and that is the rubber on steel sqeaking away, a squirt of lithium grease on it shouldstop it.
