2spark 6 Report post Posted August 24, 2011 Quite a regular occurance on my 156 is a flashing fuel light on ignition. This then stays on as a solid light when started up and takes a few miles to go off. When this happens the needle only ever shows just below quarter mark even if there's a tank full. Any ideas? Sometimes doesn't happen at all and seems to sort itself sometimes if I turn the ignition of and then do it again??
jhc 28 Report post Posted August 24, 2011 Its to tell you the engine is dying. My fuel gauge in the 156 was pure comedy, the light came on at the halfway line and it showed a completely random level no matter how much fuel it had in it, hence running out of petrol 3 times

Smaky 73 Report post Posted August 25, 2011 Faulty fuel guage, the guages in the triple pod can be replaced on their own but most just swap the whole lot....then find one of the bulbs has blown after they rebuild it.
