  1. From which car did you get roberto?
  2. Yep, saw the thread about the sensors, enquired with Opel/Vauxhaul, was 2000 Zar with them. Going to take the 2nd hand Bosch one for 300 Zar. For that price I'd take my chances and hope it lasts.
  3. Me and my itchy fingers! I did bugger up the maf, deciding now wether I should take a 2nd hand original Bosch one for good price or a generic one for same price...
  4. In my opinion it shouldn't, but Smaky will probably know the cause or point you in the right direction.
  5. Will have it done during the week
  6. Easier said than done, +- 3000 ZAR new over here
  7. Cleaned an old maf I had in the garage yesterday. Supposedly failed few years ago. Car just died on me in traffic, wouldn't start or idle with it afterwards. Cleaned it same way as other, car now starts and drives with it, but light still remain on. Drove about 250kms today with the light on, just a few hiccups here and there in thick traffic. Also don't see any significant change in fuel consumption
  8. Mmm, me and my itchy fingers! No P0100 code using the trial multi ecuscan software though?
  9. Guys, need help/advice please. Noticed some occasional drops in revs when gearing down and stopping at fourways. Drops to a bout 500rpm and then come up again. Did oil change this morning and then decided to have a go at cleaning the maf. Poured some surgical spirits/alcohol on points and lightly sweeped with earbud. Put back and reset by switching ignition to mar and off, as prescribed in thread. Engine light remained on, let idle for about ten minutes and took for a drive. Car drove fine but light remained on. On return home, switched off and then wouldn't start/idle again. Started car without maf and it worked/idled. Put maf on again, car starts and idles but light remains on. Should the maf relearn driving conditions now before light goes out or should it be reset using diagnostics to have light goes out ...or... did I just bugger up my working maf?
  10. Anybody ever do this? How difficult is it? My brother's screen is cracked heavily and the car needs to go for a roadworthy test. The insurance is willing to pay but none of the glass suppliers/fitters have one. The company that can make one have all sorts of excuses and is stalling. We found a 2nd hand one but it's still in the source car. We can have it but need to take it out ourselves on our own risk. None of the dealers/fitters wants to take a chance taking it out as well. Meanwhile, his car is a sitting duck
  11. She's been good for the past few days but started doing it again today If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  12. Everthing still fine, I also rember now that due to heavy rains the past few days, I drove through a big puddle with water spraying all over... Maybe a connection somewhere that got wet and dried again afterwards? If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  13. Will see tomorrow how it goes If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  14. What you think If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised

  16. Update: Drove home this afternoon, everything fine again, did a few stop n go's after getting home, everything still fine... If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  17. I replaced the accumulater about a year and a half ago, the pump brushes a few months ago, so doubt it could be the pump again If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  18. It's smaller than the last one though, the local shop didn't have the same size I had in but assured me that it would be fine If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  19. I'll check, but doubt it's older than a year If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  20. Update: Drove to work this morning, second attempt at 2nd gear, everything back to normal, all gears +reverse fine. Drove 35kms, all fine. Stopped at work, again no reverse or even gears. Will see what happens this afternoon when I go home If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  21. Done that already If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  22. Smakyyyyyy, I need help again please. Don't have reverse and even gears since yesterday. Drove home yesterday with no problems or any sign of a problem at all. Half an hour later no reverse to get out of downhill driveway. Checked reservoir level, all fine, a little lower than normal, but still fine, checked all relays, still no reverse. I can hear the pump priming. Left it overnight with battery disconnected, still no reverse or even gears. Connected to trial version MES tonight, no errors on the gearbox. The following errors on the engine though: P0704, P1555 and P0235. PLEASE HELP! If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  23. Damn, you make it sound so easy Smaky, lol, might take me all day but think I will have a go when I have the new cv joint. You think I should do both or is it a matter of don't scratch where it doesn't itch? If at first you do succeed, don't look too surprised
  24. Sup guys and girls? Might look like I'm only on here when I'm stuck but not true, just been very busy, bought new house, still busy moving. Still had time to read some posts though. Needles to say, the upgrade to the 159 has been postponed:( ,hence... Hearing lefthand cv starting to make clapping sound when turning full hard right, anyone got a diy thread or tips on replacing them?
