Random Gear Selections On 156 Sele

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

I have already posted this on AO but hoping ive followed The Knowledge to AD.

I replaced the accumulator about a year ago with no further problems but am concerned I may have topped up the fluid with incorrect stuff as my bottle of cs speed oil is still sealed. What are the consequences of putting the wrong oil?

is there a guide on how to flush the system bleeding etc.

I have recently been getting automatic random gear changes when stationary.

When starting the gear lever needs to be pushed forward to find neutral rathrr than sidewards

when accelerating the display might say one gear lets say 5th when really its in 1st snd to get to second I have pull back the gear lever to go down/back 4 gears to 2nd rather than up/forward 1

recently changed battery and upgrading MES shortly

Thanks I will havr a look and see.

just a thought on the subject all my issues tend to be centered around 1st gear. I have no issues once out of 1st and travelling. Mrs Swanzee is test driving this today trying to drive around thd problem by selecting neutral at traffic lights and starting in 2nd.

Will let you know how we get on.

Thanks

Hi smaky

Thanks for your help so far. I found a picture of the actuator on selespeed.org and i presume you mean swapping sensors 11 and 12.

Ive got the battery tray off but just wanted to check before proceeding.

If this is so then i can tell you already that its pretty oily on sensor 12.

Cheers
