Looking To Do A Smf Replacement For The Dmf In My 147 Jtd Mjet

Recommended Posts

Personally Julian I would stick with the DMF, fitting an SMF to a diesel is just asking the box to rattle itself to bits.

You need to come up to mine and see the gearbox I took out yesterday which had a SMF fitted 5000 miles ago, the only reusable parts are the Diff and the casing, all of the gears have thrown teeth, sychros are badly worn and 4/6 bearings are shot, ALSO the big ends on the engine were flatspotted badly making it sound like a 30 year old pug oiler and the release bearing carrier it almost through the spring plate. That should be enough to put you off as parts alone to repair it are going to be almost £1k.
