jaip1971 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2012 Is there any chance I can still come see you before ive got all the other bits "Suspension etc" which will probably be july now. as i really need a selespeed sort out, it's getting worse than ever, slipping, missing gears etc, also the pump seems to be priming/pulsating every few seconds now. If you can fit me in, could you let me know when, so i can book time off if needed, and if I need to pick any parts up up that spring to mind or are worth changing anyway? Your help would be really appreciated Cheers Paul
jaip1971 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2012 Hi, thanks for changing the accumilator and calibration at such short notice, the drive back was amazing, felt like a new car with all the errors and water cleared. however, by the time i got to about northampton it skipped a few gears both up and down. but nowhere near like it was. and with the changed parts the pump was working as it should. also, ive noticed a change in the faults. as before it was fine when cold, and played up when hot, now.... it misses 4th gear until warm, and once warm it occassionaly finds it, and also misses 3rd sometimes too. when it misses gear and skips to 5th i can knock it back down ito 4th no problem, but after a long period in the car or stuck in traffic it skips 3rd and 4th both up and down. any ideas? jaip1971 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2012 Lucky you dont have a bigger boot or a SW Guided by you then, And I might need to get some parts myself on the plastic I am looking at gearbox and clutch, arb fix, replace top & bottom suspension arms, down-pipe/cats & exhaust. Spark plugs & rocker cover gasket. I think I may leave the cambelt & variator until next years service, as the cambelt and water pump was last changed September 2010, & 10.000 miles ago. Can you let me know a cost and how long that little list will take so I can arrange the wonga. Or if it's better to split it up over a couple of visits. Smaky 73 Report post Posted June 8, 2012 Nah, if the saloon can cope then the SW is more than capable.
