Removing Airbag ECU/Crash sensor.

Just had my car on a diagnostic machine and it would seem my airbag is fried as it would not respond to it at all. Is there any harm in me removing the Airbag ECU/Crash Sensor so I can get the codes off it and driving the car without it installed?

No harm but it invaidates your insurance.

ooh thats something I never thought of. Would it not be invalid anyway since it doesn't work?

If it's there but doesn't work then your still covered, if it's been removed then the car has been modified and undeclared, that's what they'll say.

I've had a look today to get the code number from the top. it is *46813473*, i have seen one on ebay with the exact same code but its from a 5dr (mines a 3dr). Will this Airbag Sensor work in mine?
