156 2.0 JTS Drone from Front N/S

Hi All!

Have a little snagette on the JTS...

From about 25 - 30 MPH, I hear a low droning from the front N/S wheel.

I thought it may be the wheel bearing on the way out, but on cornering left and right, the drone is constant. The wheel is never hot, or even warm, after driving, but if you stick your nose in the wheel well, it smells a bit like burning plastic...

Bushes? Something more nasty?

Check the splash guards are fitted properly and that the tyre pressures are good, it may even be linked to this whistling in the other thread and it's the Aux idler melting.

Well, I can't see anything that's obstructing the wheel. I haven't had the time to take the wheel off yet, but I'll try to do that this weekend (I'm at work all over Easter, so should be quiet...).

She's still having a whistle to herself on startup, but only when she's cold. Weird...

(No further problems with oil. I don't have a leak. That, at least, is good news...)

 

I'll take the wheel off today or tomorrow/Sunday and let you know.
