  1. bad rear tyres and fading colours on reg plate. reproved.
  2. thank you, Smaky! will update if something significant happens...
  3. apparently the pump is getting less noisy. my question about the trapped air is because the sound I hear is like liquid being squeezed at high pressure inside a hose, but with bubbles inside. the same noise you hear from a grass irrigation system... probably you are thinking, «that's what is supposed to be heard...». the humming sound is still present, and maybe is just the pump touching the metal cover and resonating all over the chassis...
  4. is it possible for air to be trapped inside the pump and being released from time to time?
  5. took her for a drive again. most of the noise was gone for a couple of minutes, then returned again... the back seats fitted take out plenty of the noise, though...
  6. well, not happy with the noise. I thought that when putting the cover on top again, the sound would go away, but it did not. also, I get a king of humming sound too that is more noticeable from the bottom of the car. although, the car runs perfectly.
  7. well, won't take off the credit to the alfa romeo engineers... replugged the side spark plugs. about the fuel pump replacement... hammered with the help of a white board marker pen. was easy. some petrol spilled over the seats and the floor... but, SUCCESS!!! fuel pump makes quite sucking noise. I guess that is normal...
  8. just read a bit again about the TS technology. I'll plug the side plugs back again. but can't tell the difference. about the fuel pump, don't feel like buying the tool...
  9. correct, correct... my ts 146 is running on just 4 spark plugs...
  10. got the new pump. any tricks to remove the fastening ring more easily? was thinking of spraying some wd40 going to soak my hands on gasoline this weekend...
  11. well, found something to fill my free time in summer...
  12. either way, sounds like a pain job...
  13. been told could be an aircon leak. already have a leak in another spot, so that could be the problem...
  14. checking wiring behind the radio on my 146 and spotted a kind of viscous green liquid draining from the top. from where could it be? air conditioner, engine coolant (I THINK NOT!)?...
  15. ordered the boschy one. very nice price. will update after the big bang.
  16. there are «universal fuel pumps» on ebay. what info you have on that?
  17. AH, AH, AH! I can get a new boschy crapy one for 130 Euros from the middle east. lets see what the scrap yard or the aftermarket has for me...
  18. just couldn't hold myself any longer. got to the High Quality Germany Engineered BOSCH fuel pump and there was a swiming pool of petrol on top. you can see a small crack in the plastic top and fuel coming out from it
  19. I hope so, as a new fuel pump is not that cheap. anyway, fearing the worst. any recommended fuel resistant glue? not epoxy, please. by what I searched won't last more than a year.
  20. many thanks, Smaky! will update as soon as I have the time...
  21. hi all! my 156 is having what I think to be a fuel leak at the fuel pump. the smell is coming from behind the rear seats, at the sky hatch. anyone knows a way to fix the leak without having to buy a new fuel pump? thanks!
  22. just passed MOT with my TS 146. no advisories and with the side spark plugs disconnected. no issues on emissions...
  23. problem solved. new "used" relay. bought this 2nd grey version. http://thumbs2.picclick.com/d/w1600/pict/320738521569_/Fiat-Lancia-Relais-Grau-A727-511-60619640.jpg you can't imagine what I did to the car and how many hours I spent trying to know the fault convinced the unit was ok...
  24. well, found out it's the same part as a fiat tipo's. checked a friend of mine's central lock unit, and it is supposed to do so. anyway, the unit is faulty cause I tried it on my friend tipo and the central lock didn't work too.
  25. needing some help here... she is a 1997 146 1.6 TS and having central lock problems. got the central lock unit off the fusebox and checked continuity between pins 1M and 2M, which are the power feeding pins to the lock motors. is it supposed to have continuity between these 2 pins? anyone with the central lock working could check it for me? You just have to take the central lock unit (big yellow box) off the fusebox and plug pins 1M and 2M to a multimeter in continuity function or 200 Ohm function and feed me with the result. your help is very apreciated! this one http://forum.alfa145...00114_thumb.jpg http://91.229.239.8/fg/1072/81/otros-recambios/Alfa-Romeo-Fiat-60619640-A727-664-107281433_1.jpg
