  1. Thank you for that. I think I may well take the other option in a couple of weeks or so
  2. Are they that difficult to do, one of mine has a major split in the boot, so was thinking of replacing joint, other side is perrished so should get away with just a new CV boot. I also need to do lower arms, and maybe ARB, so I guess it obviously makes sense to do it all at the same time, was more concerned how the inner CV joints come of from the drive shaft, is it just a case of hit it hard with a large hammer? Then again I might just get soeone else to do the lot, as I get the hum working on cars these days
  3. I quite like the idea of sticker bombing especially as my paintwork is tired. However doing an estate might be over the top lol
  4. Wow lovely looking car it's about time Alfa upped the game, as sadly the latest Alfas just don't do it for me apart from the 8c Problem is its not really going to appeal to many people as a daily runner, I'd still have one if I had the money
  5. Hello and enjoy it, but be prepared to spend some money on it, as with any fine Italian lady they like to be bought gifts quite often. However they certainly make up for it in the smiles per gallon you get
  6. I might just do that soon. So far the list is lower ns wishbone, windscreen, there's an intermittent abs fault but alfa dial won't read it, there's an egr fault stored that keeps coming back but it runs fine, oh and the need to do Cambelt and water pump this year. Now do you remember my old green v6 alfa you had the pleasure of doing the cam belt on via a full engine strip down lol
  7. Cheers, I might just run it round for now to see what else is wrong with it as I've only had it a few days so don't want to spend lots of money on it just yet
  8. Are any of the cheaper arms on eBay better than others? Would anyone suggest a particular eBay seller over another for quality, obviously there not go to be try or original quality. Or any sellers to really avoid, as I need to fit at least one lower arm to the jtd as the passenger side is knocking like mad. Not looking forward to this job as although I've been without an alfa for a while I still remember how rubbish the job is to do. Cheers Andrew
  9. I've not spooken to smaky for years, I'm sure he loved my first green V6 alfa, I wonder if he remembers it lol
  10. ha ha, nope think I'll keep my turno hose for now. I've already cleared 4 stored codes on the ECU oh and an air bag code too. Luckily I kept alfadiag on one of my laptops, just in case I ever bought another Alfa. First thing on the list to do jobs in the damn bottom wishbone, I hate doing bottom ones there a pain in rear, guess I better order one tonight. Cheers for the welcome
  11. Thought I'd have a look round here and say hello, been without an alfa for 8 months until yesterday when I sold the saab and bought another Alfa 156 this time I bought a 2002 plate sportswagon 2.4 JTD 150bhp. Needs a bit fo work doing to it, but for a diesel I'm impressed, as I;ve always had the V6 versions in the past, but just couldn't justify running another V6. I'm sure I'll be soon looking for advice on changing the cambelt, thermostat and any other issues that crop up, oh and the annoying oil level sensor. Cheers Andrew
