  1. Well looks as though the Michelins are going to win through. There is a great deal on them at Costco, now to choose? Pilot Sport, Primacy or the Energy thing. Erring in favour of Pilot Sport TBH . . . . . And I'll likely stick 'em on the back moving the remaining Contis to the front.
  2. Time is approaching for 2 new fronts, and the tyres on there have lasted well (19k and counting), but without being too blunt they're crap (Pirelli P6000). I am after something bothy grippy and quiet - the P6000 are understeery and noisy. RomeoRaider on the other side gave a big thumbs to the Vredestein Ultratac Sessanta and there are presently the preferred option, however for similar money can get Michelins at Costco. Also my favoured tyre depot has pointed me in the direction of Avon ZVS, and also a couple of Cooper tyres which are an unknown quantity to me TBH. Anyway - in short - what would the great custodians of AD suggest, bearing in mind the brief described above. Size is 225 45 17. Actually - wonder if it worth creating a recommended tyre sticky/poll for the Giulietta? As a car it would appear to be very sensitive to tyre choice overall. What do you say we rate them by size first, then 3 other parameters say noise, grip wet and dry then wear? A clear picture would soon emerge I am sure. The original Contis on the back are not too far from replacement either . . .They seem to have a rep for being soft.
  3. never been away really - just been a top lurker. Hope there are some Sprint gurus on here as gonna need some advice I suspect in the coming months . . . .
  4. Me too from Lenzie - but not on here as often as I should. Bad lad that I am Things not great over on the other side at present so should make this my main port of call really. Seems to be a bit of mutiny particularly in the Sud/Sprint/33 lounge . . .
  5. More rattles than Mothercare :-(

  6. Hang fire - going to let someone know about this. Trouble is we're up north!!!
  7. OK so here is the story so far on this. First made up a cardboard template:- http://www.flickr.com/photos/13941182@N08/8810791430/ Then copied on to a bit of metal: http://www.flickr.com/photos/13941182@N08/8810792356/ trimmed and buggered about with it to fit in here http://www.flickr.com/photos/13941182@N08/8810791082/ kinda like so http://www.flickr.com/photos/13941182@N08/8888324812/ Had on old spare hacked about with grille to check alignment before I butcher mine. http://www.flickr.com/photos/13941182@N08/8887701379/ So I figure that by drilling and tacking on some captive nuts, I will be able to use the E30 adjusters too. The problem mount is the one on the top outside edge of the outer lamp, however if these are installed prior to the wings going on then all should be fine. Further pics forthcoming as things continue their glacial progress. Also worked out how the Ph1 GTV leather seats are going in too . . . . If only I could get the welding finished (reliant on much help for this) then I could continue apace. For inspiration, has anyone had a squint at GTCoop Sprint over on AO? He is local to me and I have to say he has made a stunning job and is proving inspirational to me and a great help. Mine will be nowhere near as true as his - it was too rough for that to start with. I have chosen to go for a 'modern retro' style with mine. To give you an idea - I have 15" teledials from a 145QV to go on it, sideskirts I will modify those from a 156 and the seats are the aforementioned from the GTV. Going to do the headlining in a nide cloth along with the A B and C pillars too. How do you think a Sprint would look in Rosso Miro? Anyway fuck knows when this will all come together but that's the intention certainly . . . . . .
  8. May have a wee workaround for this to use the E30 lights, Looking promising so far, will post up details - eventually - if anyone is interested.
  9. Think I may have ditched the idea - found a better way using these http://www.demon-twe...ght-conversions All said a load easier and with use of a relay I'll set up a mind blowing high beam pattern. Anyone want a set of E30 headlights??
  10. Aye the round, flat faced ones. Look pretty well identical to the ones on the later Sprints - but I gather much, much better as the Sprint ones (when the car was running) had the light output of a couple of tea lights . . . . . . .
  11. I know a few people have done this, and I have used the search function over on the 'other side' but was wondering if anyone who put the BMW E30 headlights kept a photographic record for a how to guide. The inner (high beam) units I can get to fit OK with a bit of tinkering, but the outer units I simply can't see how to do it without terminally cutting the grille past the point of no return - they seem too wide to fit somehow. If it is too much hassle, anyone want an excellent set of E30 front lamps? Any help/advice gratefully appreciated PS if this is in the wrong place please move to the relevant lounge
  12. Selling the 4 x 17" turbines as fitted as standard to Giulietta Veloce. In good order bar one which I will touch up prior to sale. Otherwise in good order other than the odd small nick. Will post up pics once I get them cleaned up. My car has done 16K on these wheels so condition commesurate with mileage. Open to offers on these within reason as I simply don't have the room to store them. Shipping costs variable - I can arrange at my end for you (approx £29 via Paisley Couriers) or you can arrange at your side if you prefer. Collection in person can be arranged in Glasgow/Central Scotland area. Contact me via PM/e-mail or on 07806 593784
  13. Hi Smffy The Giulietta is brilliant. Very different to the GT and dare I say it maybe not as much 'fun' however as an all-rounder it is superb. Whenever I bowl along a country road lamenting GT I fid myself looking at the speedo to see I am carrying much higher speeds that the GT was ever capable of doing on the same roads. So lets just sum it up by saying that it is 90% of the fun, but with 90% more comfort. And to be honest in D mode the majority of that missing 10% is restored. For everyday use I actually find A to be the best all round. Ideally I would have D in fuck off nutter mode, with N just a bit livlier than it is now. However I nit-pick. I don't even find the lack of foot rest a chore either TBH. If choosing again I perhaps would have taken the 1.6 as the difference in real life isn't that enormous. But overall very happy
  14. Have swapped out my 17" Turbines for a set of Brera wheels so the Turbines have to go. Open to sensible offfers if anyone is interested. They are not pristine, one wheel in particular has a couple of kerb assaults but I will tidy this up prior to sale. Other than that they are in fine fettle. Drop me a line if interested and I can also send down pics. Been lurking here lately admitttedly..............
  15. £25 inc postage sounds reasonable dontcha think given what is included there??
  16. Pictures of these now posted up on Flikr for anyone interested. http://www.flickr.com/photos/13941182@N08/
  17. I have a set of 17" Teles that I had both on my 156 and latterly my GT, While not perfect, these were recently repainted by me and have no major gouges or buckles running straight and true. These are complete with long bolts too. I'm open to offers on these (provided they are not derisory) before Iput 'em up in classifieds, but again would love to see them go to an owner who would cherish them. Drop me a PM or call me on 07806 593784. I am in Glasgow and can arrange courier delivery at a charge.
  18. You too matey. Be interesting to hear -both - our thoughts on how they compare, as I really have enjoyed the GT immensely.
  19. It's off to Piccadilly in Knaresbourough tomorrow so no longer available. I'll miss the GT it has been brilliant. Time to grow up a bit so G day is now upon me . . .
  20. S'ok. Amazing how quickly things can go off on a tangent . . . . . Anyway, predictably enough open to offers within reason. Must be of use to someone . . . . .
  21. Open to offers on this one too. . . . . . .
  22. Incidentally open to offers within reason . . . . .. .
