  2. Yes hopefully , that's why I'm giving it a chance here , it's extremely fast and great fun it has a lightened crank and wouldn't surprise me if its turning over 150 brake.

  4. It's black, engine is alloy top 16v done 5000 mls since rebuild, still on cloverleaf wheels and good tyres, goes well good fun to drive needs mot , a small strip on floor pan require welding , has other repairs to floor pan done as well , all solid .Pics if I can load in time .
  5. 145 cloverleaf for sale, great engine ,rebuilt by Smaky , floor pan needs a weld £100 ,the whole car could restore otherwise its being scrapped.
  6. Yeah that's possible, but it was a normal silencer fitted and no welding
  7. Ok thanks Alex , I might get another chance to look at this , it's a 51 plate not an x reg as I origininaly said , plug seems fine as I remember only one plug , not got car to hand
  8. Could the crank sensor have the above and not show as a fault code then?
  9. Nothing comes up as crank sensor as I was hoping , Isuspected that myself. I checked the plug at the pot entiometer ands its ok not checked for voltage at the plug though, so could be the pedal is faulty
  10. Yeah but you would still get throttle , no? As I say just idle absolutely no throttle. Looks like deeper investigation
  11. To add the temp sensor has a fault , cleaned this and fan relay not working , but absolutely no throttle just idle, normal at first , then hunts.
  12. Ok been to see car and multiscan says potentiometer is at fault aye throttle , so checked plugs and fiat multi scan looks like throttle angle is frozen so potentiometer not working . Any way of cleaning this on throttle body ?
  13. Not got to the problem yet , but just getting a heads up on possible causes. 156 x reg idles only after an exhaust change(rear silencer only). I suspect either the Maf first but could this be a crank sensor as well as I believe the idle only came up as a fault on overtemperature ,if there is a link to heat would the crank be involved in this fault but coincidently a MAF . In defence no access to the car yet with multiscan.
  14. OK I have found the perfect tool for the passenger side.drive shaft, , it worked a treat with a little hammering!
  15. Kettle needs reboiled , in contact with ilikealfa, so hopefully we can resolve.
  16. How do I pop the drive shaft on the GT diesal, Do I have to undo the intermediary bearing the same as 147 set up and do the shafts pop out under a jolt? Iam removing the gearbox for a clutch job.
  17. This thread must have resolved its self , I am intriquid to find the solution?
  18. Looking at a clutch kit excluding flywhel at the moment, for a GT JTD 16V and one for buying off a online shp comes in at £119 0dd and I wonder if this is too cheap as I see most are £210 and over. Can anyone recommend a reliable source of this kit please. Regards Pat
  19. Thanks Smaky Got a large job to do here, clutch,cambelt,all brakes and front suspension, nice car actually , a bit faded in red but yeah could like this one. At 103,000 it's needing tlc . If I have any snags ill be in touch.
  20. I know ,it's maybe in somewhere on here before, but can someone tell me despite looking under the vin code/ chassis no. On EPER I cannot decide whether the belt I should be replacing is 198 or 199 teeth , would it by any chance be the difference between air con or not . The number doesn't seem to be different on EPER , but there is an option on shop4parts. This on a 54 plate GT 1.9 GT

    Is there a how to on this model's cambelt chage (jtd). Ihave done the multopla , Im sure it cant be much different , any way has anyone got a link please?

Got a friends GT 1.9JTD.Its got a few fault codes which are either something or nothing , I just need some guidance as to whether they are worth doing something with.The fault codes are P0504 brakes switch A/B I can only assume that the switch is dodgy ? The second one is P0238 Boost pressure (4) What can this be , is this switch dodgy as well. The third is u1600 No signal. The fourth is P0704 Transmission/gear system (5) Again is this a dodgy switch . All these are not giving an engine management light at present but it has showed its face before which on one fault would suggest the egr is gummed up around town and the car needs a blast? Are these codes life threatening or not and have these appeared with other folk out there.
