  1. sounds like you made the right decison
  2. when do you think you'll be picking it up?
  3. looks great i want need the wheels off it
  4. or a mac/macbook congrats on the new car trev, post loads of pics when you get it. its the rules
  5. i think they released a few after the bond film with the 159's in. i can't remember what was difrent about them but i remember seeing 1 which looked really nice. if its as good as you say go for it try and get a bit of money off it if theres anything you might need to do anything to it
  6. If you know which specialist done some work on it you could always give them a ring & ask if there was anything else which may need doing sooner or later on it & if it was there recently what condition it was in (dealers tart them up to look nice for a quick sale etc)
  7. i'll try and speak to the owner of the 159 and ask if he has had any problems or anything with it, how many miles etc and let you know
  8. Hi Trev, welcome to AD i've not had any experience with 159's but there's 1 over the road from me & as far as i know nothing has ever gone wrong with it & its used a lot (not sure on the mileage but its quite high as its a company car) Im on my 4th alfa now & so far none of mine have given me any reason to believe the usual alfa reliabilty stuff people bang on about. Its the same as any car & as long as you buy 1 that has been looked after you should be fine (serviced properly etc). Mine have only cost me money through servicing & tyres mainly but there have been a couple of problems ive had (diff went on my GTA & the driveshaft on my MiTo QV but apart from that, they've been fine Hopefully someone who has a 159 or knows a bit more about them can help you out on the questions you might have about them but go & test drive a couple & see what you think

i know not everyone likes them but i do like the 3 series, has to be the m sport though or they do look boring. if you are pissed off with the GT there's a good enough reason to change it or you will just end up getting more pissed off with it and want to sell it quicker so put the price down to get it gone quick. stick it up for sale, see if you get any interest and see what happens someone might want it straight away and if you start it higher you have got room to lower the price before you are annoyed at what you get for it worked for me with my GTA if nobody wants it keep it a bit longer or sell it to nb to give it some fantango
  10. Yep, makes sense to do it at the same time Was thinking of maybe changing the colour of the calipers, something difrent to the usual red so will see about getting them stripped down & powdercoated & done when its put back together
  11. cool, sounds like you been busy doing a few bits to it then, got any more pics?
  12. it must be repeated at some point might be next sunday (or whenever its on) just before the new episode?

my dad's got a 3 series bmw, i really like it his is the saloon though, does that 1 you looked at have the run flat tyres? only problem with them is they are expensive as not a lot of companies do them some people say you can swap them for normal tyres but others say the suspension is set up for them and the tyre pressure sensors are for run flats or something ( can't remember exactly what it was about but there were a couple of reasons why) thought you said a while back though that you didn't really 'need' a diesel and only really got 1 because the GT you found was pretty much what you wanted? might be worth looking at petrols, bit cheaper to buy id have thought aswell i know when i was looking for a car for my dad the petrols were cheaper
  14. looks like i'll be doing that then, been looking and can't find anymore info for GQV pads which is a shame think i'll change the discs though and have to stick with standard pads. at some point ill get the fluid changed to beter stuff too and do the hoses at the same time. that should be enough
  15. Can you get it on sky again, might be repeated early 1 morning
  16. Yea that old bloke definatly done him over his zimmer frame with that. Crafty bastard
  17. 1st episode was pretty good , shame they didnt do the pantera though wanted to see that get done up

i was going to suggest that too, get it remapped and badge it up as a 318
  19. ahh, i get what you mean they are low but i dont really use it that often (only at weekends) so not 'urgent' at the moment so i would rather get the right pads for the car, if i can find out if the other pads from the evo etc have the pegs on them i will be able to use them and be able to search more places to see if theres any difrence in price. hopefully they do have the pegs on them as i found them a bit cheaper than the gazzella site

Nice, what is it (diesel/petrol etc, i can see its a bmw 3 series )
  22. do you mean 156 GTA pads will fit mine? I've seen someone had fitted some pads for 'GTA' 330mm pads and they have rattles as the backing of the pads aren't the same and he swapped them after 2000 or so miles after getting annoyed so don't think they will go . haven't had time to yet but i was going to ask on pistonheads if anyone has any photo's of the pads they have used on either the evo or volvo i found with the same part numbers for, might be lucky enough that someone might be about to change them on their car (hopefully) it seems like those locating pins are the awkward bit, probably why the others rattled if they don't locate properly?
  23. Is it still going? Haven't had ay updates since you got it
  24. done a bit more looking and using the part number from here --> http://www.gazzellar...cat=4100&page=1 they have the manufacturer code as : SP2603-112 when i put 'tarox SP2603-112' into google it comes up with pads for an evo -- http://froogle.motor...112&PID=1408739 and also a Vovlo S60 2.5T AWD -- http://www.europerfo...?product=222186 both use brembo calipers but then the bit i'm getting confused about is when i look on motorsportworld the brera also have the same part number which won't fit? http://www.motorspor...112&PID=1407315
