bazzbazz 5 Report post Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) This one might be for Smaky As has been discussed many a time in the various forums, to CORRECTLY reset your engine ECU you must use one of the "Diagnostic Software Programs" and use the special selection in them to do this. However! I have a 2000 Alfa 156 2.0 TS Selespeed with the Bosch Motronic ME3.1 Selespeed engine management, and NON of the Diagnostics HAS a reset selection for this particular Engine Management ??? Can anyone enlighten this poor sole as to how one does do so using one of the Diagnostics? Thanks in advance Baz Edited March 3, 2014 by bazzbazz
Smaky 73 Report post Posted March 3, 2014 The 3.1 is the only one you can do this on, Disconnect the battery terminals - first for a minimum of 45 minutes and link the 2 wires up, Reconnect the battery terminals + first, Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to MAR for 90 seconds, Turn the key to OFF for 90 seconds, Start the engine without pressing any pedals and allow it to idle for a minimum of 5 minutes ensuring it gets up to 90'C, Drive the car for a minimum of 45 minutes, Done.
