Clem Fandango 71 Report post Posted January 14, 2012 Wishbones need doing on my 146, could this give the effect of a warped disc or do I need to add a set of discs to my spring shopping list.
Smaky 73 Report post Posted January 16, 2012 It's unlikely that disc noise would be caused by a lower wishbone problem, that though is given away on the 146 by the steering center beginning to wander, but something on the front which fails and can cause a similar noise to awarped disc is if the upper mount bearing collapses and starts to grand away the plastic casing. The brakes thoughare still probably the most likely cause for the noise and a set of discs and pads for the front is barely £70.
Clem Fandango 71 Report post Posted January 16, 2012 Cheers smaky, there's no noise from the brakes can feel it on the pedal. Only noise is knocking going over bumps. Both front tires have worn on the inside.

That is most likely the upper mount bearings knocking, though a 5% chance of the lower wishbone causing it, easy to check either way.
