keithyboy 1 Report post Posted September 24, 2011 A slightly bizarre question possibly but... 1. Are 156 door handles the same on boths side and, therefore, interchangeable? 2. If not, are the lock barrels interchangeable?
Smaky 73 Report post Posted September 25, 2011 Yes and no, but which side are you after? If it's because the button sticks in then remove the handle, take out the 3 phillips screws that hold in the barrel, pop out the barrel and remove the O-ring which has probably split. My issue is that for some reason, my key doesn't work on the driver's side and the remote is playing up. Locking it from the passenger side is a minor PITA so swapping from side to side would solve the issue.
Smaky 73 Report post Posted September 26, 2011 It is possible to swap the barrel section from side to side but youneed to remove it from the mechanism, Otherwise you can try and make the barrel you have there fit the key by swaping the segments round in it. keithyboy 1 Report post Posted September 26, 2011 Cheers matey. The last time I took a car lock apart, it ended up with lots of bits of lock all over the place so swapping them over sounds a better bet to me.
