    Hi guys have a leaking gasket on the lower head of my v6 and gonna attempt changing it myself. I've got an original alfa gasket and all the tools I think I need plus a general idea of what to do but was wondering if anyone had any pointers or knew of any guides online that could help me out?

    Also I have a torque wrench but it doesn't go down as low as the 8Nm specified for the bolts. I understand the cover shouldn't be replaced too tight?

    OK so bit of an update..been mad busy with work so not had much time for anything let alone getting the car booked in but I did get a mechanic from an alfa specialist to have a quick look and a drive and he seems to think the noise is caused by a dry joint somewhere. Obviously he can't narrow it down without getting underneath it but he seems sure it's not the upper wishbone bush as the noise is too high pitched and sounds more like a metal to metal squeak.

    He assured me it wasn't dangerous and to bring it in when I have more time.

    I have noticed it gets worse when turning right lately and it's definitely getting louder so I'm gonna book a day off work so I cam get it seen to asap

    I'm not convinced it is the uppers mate like I said the sound seems to be coming from around/behind the centre of the wheel and it's a different sound completely to when the wishbones were on the way out and happens over smaller bumps and ripples in the road, or even if I wiggle around in the seat while the car is stationary.

    If it turns out it is them I will of course get on their case.

    Anyways the noise has vanished with the wet weather so it's pointless me having a look for the time being but you mentioned drop links in my double post. Can they emit a squeak when wearing out and would the noise come from behind the wheel nut area?

    I've been getting a noise from the front left wheel area of my GT for the last few days when I'm going over uneven roads and small bumps and it's driving me mental. Car steers fine brakes fine etc the noise doesn't go when I brake audit can be replicated by pushing down on the wing. It seems to be coming from behind the centre of the wheel.

    I had the upper wishbones changed 3 months ago for TRWs and the noise when they were shot was different and only happened over bigger bumps/speedhumps, so assuming they're ok what else could be the culprit?
