  1. Thought I'd post a few pics of the fix in case it can help anyone else out, a bolt a support bracket and some strong hold glue has done the trick, not pretty but it works 😄 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. You have eagle eyes Smaky 😄 I was thinking maybe some locking wire and some drill holes ????? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hi all My 147 had the legendary wiper arm linkage snap but it seems to have happened at a critical point (but then I guess maybe the whole linkage is critical 😄) does any one have any recommendations for a fix or the recommended replacement to buy ? Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. My sincere thanks to Smaky for fixing the clutch rod, as he diagnosed, doing all the software stuff and giving the car the once over- I can't thank him enough for saving this little 147 I would warn anyone considering using KAP of Eastbourne to AVOID at all costs !!!!!!!!!!!!! 5. That would be amazing thank you, they re still waiting to get it back so I'll give you a shout when they do 👠Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thank you Smaky, I can't thank you enough! Perhaps you could send me your paypal address, if you've got one, and I could "buy you a drink".
  7. Hi All I've just registered on this forum to try and help my Uncle. I bought him & my Aunty a 147, 2l selespeed off a colleague as their replacement car as they desperately needed one. Unfortunately they started getting a problem, the car wouldn't select 4th gear. They ad it checked by a garage and codes P1747 & P1748 were thrown up, cleared but reoccured. A sort while later the car also stopped selecting reverse. Its been to their local Alfa specialist (KAP of Eastbourne), on the first visit they had it for 2 days and failed to get to it diagnosed. KAP have just had it back for a week to diagnose it again, and have removed the gearbox to do this ( ) and claim that there is water in the box and £3k needs to be spent on a new box. I'm not convinced and I think that they're possibly exploiting the fact that Uncle is not mechanically minded in the slightest.. As the car ia some way from me its making it difficult for me to get to look at it. Subsequently, from research, I've found a few things it could be but I wondered if any one could give me an incling of where to start please? Many thanks in advance
