  1. Put the thing on kitchen table have cup of tea pick the thing up again lock falls out job done
  2. Does anyone know how to separate the boot lock mechanism from the rotating badge on a 1999 GTV. I have removed complete assembly from car and the circlip from lock itself but still wont move is it time to twat it with a hammer or is there a more subtle method.
  3. Front bearings on mine are press fit I took hub off and asked local garage to press old bearings out and new ones in cost me a packet of doughnuts
  4. Thanks for the replies much appreciated. I will message you Smaky and give you some details.
  5. Anyone know a good Alfa mechanic in Chippenham Wiltshire area who they would reccomend . I have a 1999 3.0l gtv in need of cambelt and tensioners and a few other bits and pieces. Any suggestions would be appreciated will quite happily travel an hour or so for the right service
  6. Will see if son in law fancies weekend away if mines not fixed. He is an Alfa convert since I gave him my old 156, I cant take wifes car as she wont drive mine
  7. If I can source a solid flywheel and clutch conversion for the gtv and get the time to fit it I will be there
  8. Thanks again everybody K9d sorry having too much fun with it even with clutch and flywheel change looming
  9. Thanks I wil contact him after payday
