  1. My questions seem to be endless at the moment... Having pluged AD into my car.. and FES too.. (wish I'd bought that instead).. I've noticed that AD reports the car has travelled ~118,000kms.. but the odo tells me it's done about 125k? what do you think is going on there? someone's lying.. How reliable is the reported data on these systems.. as I've seen some other questionable numbers too.. only I've forgotten what they are now! Oh.. also I have a new motor in the car which has only done 49000kms.. is there anyway to adjust the odo to reflect that?
  2. Weird.. but that comes as no surprise. I have a feeling that if the system detects moisture in the cabin.. it flicks the aircon on.. But while fuel is $1.60 per litre, there are times i want to turn it off! If my windows arent fogging and im not baking like a roast duck in the car.. then why the hell cant I?! I love my Alfa.. but seriously... sometimes it behaves worse than my two year old... I've tried all the techniques.. naughty corner.. ignoring it.. setting boundaries. You name it.. I've even read the books and watched the Nanny.. All to no avail...... BAH!
  3. Ok so I've wondered on and off about this for ages, but keep on forgetting to ask the question.. On the very rare occasion I want to deactivate the A/C, by pressing the A?C button and just have the fans going, it turns off, but after a random amount of time, it turns back on again.. I have the dual climate control system... I don't have Auto selected... Does anyone know why this happens?
  4. You don't hug your car??? Being emotionally unavailable is unhealthy..
  5. I have the 2003 JTS series 2 156 with dual climate control.. I know that FES can read the Climate Control ECU but given I just paid for AlfaDiag is there anyway it can connect to the CC ECU?
  6. Alfa. I think I'll go outside and give her a
  7. Hey all, just received the adapters for FES so that I can check the Airbags on my car... The following fault was thrown: 02 ECU Supply Voltage Obviously that means there's a supply voltage issue to the ECU, but what does that mean in real terms? Also, See the following screenshot: The system is reporting that both the Drivers and Passenger's Seat Belts are fastened, when they weren't.... is thing something I should be worried about? Finally, should I just clear the fault and check again in a few days?
  8. How can you say such things?? Sacre Bleu! I'm quite happy with the lacklustre turning circle and the sI am a bigots from onlookers.. they may be able to manoeuvre their cars, but they still have to drive them.. poor buggers... Nope - I'm just interested in the technical reason behind it.. thats all.
  9. Ok, if it's due to design.. why didn't they design a better turning circle into the car? It's it a limitation of something else?
  10. Nope, it's a 3.5lt V6 Petrol.. Weather fluctuates from about 30 to 40 degrees C in summer and bloody cold in winter...
  11. Why? The turning circle on Alfas is always poor, fact. Is there a technical reason for this? Or is this just another mental Alfa thing?
  12. I thought I'd throw this out there even though it's not about an Alfa.. sorry... My Dad has a Pajero that he uses about once a month.. it's only used for towing a trailer or big loads.. which pretty much means it's only driven when I'm visiting as I'm the hired help! When the car is used, its hooked up to a 1 ton trailer (empty) on a cold engine, and the moment he leaves the property, he's on an open road.. 100kph. He lives in the bush. So there's no time for a decent warm up. I'm sure that this can't be good for it in the long run.. Can anyone recommend a good oil for this type of work? Maybe an Ester based oil? anyway... im no expert..
  13. OK... A noob question.. what's a Plenum?
  14. G'day Smaky, Would you consider writing a guide to replacing the rear brake pads for the 156 please? Cheers, Dave
  15. I noticed that. actually the software looks great and up to date.. AD looks like a Windows 95 app. Pity, I only paid for AD a week ago. Anyway, I'll play with it some more, and probably buy a licence..
  16. I'll download it and have a look.. One thing though, for the 2003 pre facelift 156 2.0JTS, which Selespeed has it got?
  17. Anyway.. It was slightly out of adjustment, so I followed the guide, set it to 28mm.. actually it turned out to be 28.1mm after I tightened the lock nut. Put it all back togetther and only after reinstalling the battery, I relaised I forgot to but the dust cover back on the clutch actuator. So, later today I'll pull it all apart again and fix that... eh. One thing though, the clutch bleed routine took ages (over 10 mins), then disconnected. How long should it normally take? Anyway, given it disconnected, I went straight to calibrate after that.. and all worked fine. The system is as perfect as it's ever been...
