  1. Hey The 156 chasis is sorted.. was out in the wet last night, the traction control is good but not intrusive.. just kicks in when im literally out of grip, its great I keep getting 147's overtaking and cutting in front of me a lot... almost to go "Wooo, hey dad! Its me!" :¬D
  2. Thanks for the reply No its the 1.9 JTD 16v 2004 140bhp version
  3. Hi Im having a few slight niggles with the alfa 156 jtd. Niggle 1 When cold outside, i try to reverse and i struggle to get it into gear. when its warmed up its perfectly fine, literally sweet as a nut. When i got the car the linkages were REALLY stiff, to the point the stick wouldnt spring back into place or move from gear to gear easily. I got the garage there and then to lube the pulleys etc. and then it worked sweet, really nice (After quickly googling the forum for a likely cause, then acted like i knew all about it haha!) So, is it likely to be a pully thing or do i need to change the clutch and/or gear oil as its fine when warm? My first thought was gear oil to some synthetic (Fuchs TITAN SINTOFLUID SAE 75W-80 ok?) The clutch has only just been done, so Id be concerned if it was that. Niggle 2 Slight tapping noise when driving along on the drivers side front - ive bought a droplink, guessing it will be that as its so common. Also, ALL the suspension creaks.. go over a speed bump and its like an old pirate ship lol - common? I something i could oil up if its just a spring/ strut grinding against the chassis or component? It has a tow bar, im guessing its had load on it during its short 60k miles. Niggle 3 Passenger footwell, soaking wet... without stripping the interior, are there any regular weak spots for water? Niggle 4 Feels down on power - its had a decoke on a recent receipt, any tried and tested boosts for the performance? injector cleaner maybe? Not like i can change the spark plugs.. maybe an air filter is required.. again that didnt look the easiest job when i looked last night. I got slaughtered by a 306 off the slip road, maybe im asking too much of the jtd... it could have been a gti-6 lol Apart from these very small things, Im still really chuffed with it.. it looks amazing, handles great and everyone comments on how nice it is. I love driving it too (i went on a pointless 40mile journey the other day lol)
  4. hah by all means I love how it looks, many say how good it looks. Finally own and Alfa )))
  5. one droplink to replace but apart from that all good Got cream leather, its really warm! I guess it depends ont he make and leather type. The hyundai coupe is really cold and thick for ages, this is warm immediately Love it
  6. pair of shocks then, with the curvey bodykit-less body, lowered could look quite nice, wheels i can get later
  7. This is the interior for reference.. looked quite neat and clean which i thought i might like over leather.. but the leather is ridged, so not such a large flat cold area i guess http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p
  8. Yep, Rugby in the Midlands We dont get many hot days tbh, lots of cold ones... The design is different oo ont he leather, my dads audi hasnt had any problems really... but my hyundai coupe has very flat leather and it quite cold.
  9. Hi Found a really nice Tursimo.. will i miss the features off the upper specs? I will change the wheels for example.... What are your personal ownership experiences, any benefits to this model? Thanks Pete
  10. Hey all, Im buying a 156 but after owning a coupe with leather seats for the last couple of years (cold in winter sweaty in summer) Im seriously considering cloth seats. Ok, they dnt look as great but once in the car i dont think it makes much difference. How difference is the cabin quality feel of alfa cloth seats to leather ones? My bums cold just thinking of the leather... I just dont want it to downgrade my look of the gorgeous alfa. Lets be honest its either freezing in the uk of very hot.. i rarely wear coats in my car. Am I going to miss the leather? this is purely on a quality basis, the whole kids/dogs etc. isnt on my criteria, yes I have kids but i dont mind cleaning seats thoroughly. (so excited btw of finally owning one! Alfa virgin ) Cheers Pete
