Aside from Ian, who, being an utter fucking star and managed to remove that FUCKING flywheel we have decided to pause for the day and take time out from the project, and basically go to the pub and get shitfaced. I'd actually ordered a brand new DMF (at cost of £320) today, but with Ian's STERLING work (yes, that is a pun) I was able to cancel it. Right now, I'm working my way through a bottle of white with great company and am so looking forward to getting that 4.0 BIATCH of DRIFTING HEAVEN in that E34. Frankly, yes. TBH I wish I'd scrapped it back in November when it went wrong as my gut instinct said to do. Epic fucking waste of money and load of hassle so far. I'm also very conscious at how this heap of wank is taking so much time and effort from those who are so kindly helping me with it.

To be honest, no. Apparently the 4.0 has come with manifolds (and I think, downpipes). If it doesn't work out it then forces the issue to sort the exhaust earlier. It's on the list, so if it has to get done now then fair dos. Worse case for now, we'll side exit it. Using acros.

I don't want to bin the cats. Mainly so that MOTs are not a pain. As for increased amplification of exhaust noise... This WILL be done, but let's get the engine in and running to start with...

Everything's been checked and it appears we have everything we need now to do this. The engine crane is booked. Work starts Saturday. Holy fucking shit...

I'm starting to get a bit concerned (I'm not known for patience, tolerance or being able not to worry) but all being well it'll be with us soon, so we can get started on this...

One lowish mileage 4.0 engine, ECU and the whole bloody lot to convert it has been bought. Let the fun begin...

We've also now decided to just cut the crap and go straight to the 4.0 conversion. And make the 3.0 into a coffee table or something. Mental? Probably. Fun? When done - definitely.
