Congratulations! I love mine too. Now that it's got an MOT, I might have to give it a wash!
-
It passed!
(must be one of the first Giuliettas to have an MOT)
-
Um, this might sound like stating the bloody obvious, but have you tried googling the part number?
i.e. type in Bosch "1 928 404" (can't make out the last three characters)
That should tell you what it is.

On a car so new you should only have to worry about lights, wipers and tyres. Anything else then don't let them touch it.
Tyres: All OK (winter ones will be going back on soon)
Wipers: All OK
Lights... Well, I have beam deflectors fitted to the headlights since I do a fair bit of driving in Europe. Also, I had seen a thread about a lever to switch the lights over from UK to EU, and I think I moved it for the driver's side one, but not the passenger side. But when I asked a mechanic about it, he said that wasn't too important. He will either be doing the MOT or taking to the MOT centre for me, either way I think he will try make sure the beam deflectors, etc don't affect the result.

Hello
in Newbie Zone
Can someone moderate this thread? :Big Grin:
Welcome (again) Van.

Just went to re-tax mine (£105 for the year), only to be stopped by the website saying I need an MOT. First one coming up - booked in for 23rd.
-
Was it this, by any chance?

I've just taken out a loan so I get free servicing on the wigwam. That means I can up my offer on your Mito.
£2.51
(Oh, and The Wife used to be an A&E nurse. She says she's never seen one before that was less than 5mm long when erect, so she thinks you're a bit special)
-
I can send photos if anyone is interested
£1
£1.01, but please stop sending me the photos, my wife commented on them, something about never seeing one that small before.

Move into the light, Homer...

Mine is best because its a MiTo,
If yours is "best", then why do you want to change it to something better, i.e. mine?
So, my car has got 2 votes, can two or three mods close the thread now that we've reached an agreement.

Show off
If you dont have the radio nav do you still get a boost gauge on the display where the trip computer, date & time is? (Might be the same as the MiTo
Yes you do. In fact if you have the radionav, you can configure the boost gauge to display on both.
-
I've got one!
Being pedantic, I'd also say that the G meter is configured for people who like displays but don't have a basic understanding of physics. When you go round a corner it shows the force pushing you outwards, but when you accelerate it shows the force going forwards when it should really be backwards.

have you had any issues with yours at all? seen a lot of people complaining about rattles
At a certain temperature the radionav screen sometimes squeaks. Cured with a bit of mr sheen on the hinges.
The only other issue is the way it prefers autobahn speed limits to those in the uk.

There's an updated version of the Giulietta due to be announced next month. Elsewhere a comment was made that they hoped Alfa improved the handling. Well, based on my Alfa experience, I don't know how they can improve it. The handling is way better than the Brera, 159 or 147.
But anyway, I'll leave you to go look at a few and try them out...

Yes, the vents are from the Mito, which is similar to the ones in the Panda (from memory).
The Giulietta vents are used in the Fiat 500.
From a driving point of view, the Mito is like driving an old mini or maybe a 205GTI - they are fun. I can't quite decide on the right word for the Giulietta, it's somewhere between refined and grown up, but neither is right.
In dog terms, the Mito is a cocker spaniel, the Giulietta is a springer spaniel
Rugby? Mito is Chris Ashton, G is Billy Twelvetrees

Welcome to AD, Saabre.

Welcome to Alfa Driver, Sam.
You might not own one at the minute, but if you want to be a true petrolhead, you will one day!

Welcome to Alfa Driver, Old boy.

If it's bImmer, not beemer, does that mean it's "tasser in a bimmer", not "tosser in a beemer"?

it does look really good , i wanted to go last year but was on holiday. just remembered about it again and thought thats good, im not going away.....got a stag do that weekend in portsmouth i'll try for next year
You could always take a couple of hours out from the stag do to go to it - it's not too far from Portsmouth to Dunsfold.
If the weather's good, I might go for a walk up the hill and look down on the airshow.

As Yul Brynner said in Westworld, I'm a bit rusty at this.

There wass an A class parked beside my Giulietta this morning.
It's nice when you see something that reminds you that you made the right decision.
