  1. Forgot to add,

both front top wishbones have been replaced a couple of MOTs (about 10k) ago.

So that's big cambelt service and wishbones (the usual failings on the 156) done.

Clean, tidy, light service and lubes, and should be ready for another five or more years for the new owner.

  2. Having been sat on my drive for nearly twelve months, I've decided it's time to say goodbye to my 156 V6.

I've had it for five years, and since my Father died, I've not been in it. I bought a SAAB 9-5 Aero this time last year and since then only ran the ALFA up to temp a couple of times a month.

    It's a 156 V6 in Silver on a W (00) plate. The L90 plate is now on my Aero.

Sportpack 3, sunroof and acc, lowered suspension, and embossed Momo leather (blue).

I've fitted a bootlid with the big wing, but have the original as a spare so you can swap it back if you'd prefer.

Genuine 17" ALFA wheels (but have 4 16" Teledials to go with it).

GTA style headlamps, but again the originals come with the car if you want to change them back.

Autodelta carbon intake kit with autodelta air filter.

Was in very good condition when I was running it everyday, has a smidge over 88, 000 miles on the clock, I had the big (£800) cambelt and waterpump service done at 80,000.

Both front top wishbones replaced shorty thereafter too.

As it's been stood, it will need tax (currently SORN) and MOT. I would recommend a fluids/filter and plugs service too. There will be some things that will be either loose that should be tight and tight that should be loose. Kept in gear with the handbrake off though.

I'm loathed to see it go, but as I'm not using it and have a 9000 Carlsson as a project car it has to be gone.

First to turn up with a trailer and £500 quid can take it away.

  3. Cba to read any of this thread.

There are some f1 'legends' but none of them are good drivers. They just had good cars.

F1 is shite, and so are all of its drivers. If you want to see the worlds best drivers, watch some touring cars or rally coverage.

Its like f1, but the cars don't fall apart if they come within a foot if each other and you have to know how to drive to win.

That car…had literally one quarter of the downforce that, say Williams or Brabham had. It had a power advantage over the Cosworths for sure, but it also had massive throttle lag at that time. In terms of sheer ability I think Gilles was on a different plane to the other drivers. To win those races, the 1981 GPs at Monaco and Jarama — on tight circuits — was quite out of this world. I know how bad that car was.

But the greatest transcend the limits of their equipment.

  4. Its a great documentary, very moving so if you're the weepy type get the tissues ready.

One of the saddest parts is that most people have no idea who roland ratzenberger is.

    I am unable to cry

    Robot

When a woman says she used a whole box of tissue when watching a film, that's OK. :bluecry:

It's not the same as when a man says it... :$

  5. I need an estate for work and cant afford to insure this and another car and the bike so some things gotta give :(

A classic red (the same as Alfa red) MkII MX-5 1.8 Sport :D

Will be buying a momdeo derv box to go with it shortly.

Not only is it amazin'. It's so much fun and costs the square root of fuck all to run. insurance is 20% of what I was paying for the GTV. It's a lot cheaper on fuel. It has rear wheel drive and a limited slip diff :D :D :D And best of all 93 million miles of head room :yay: God I fuckin' love it. I can't believe I've gone almost 29 years without owning one of these machines before...
