Oh no, not my point at all. Just that when I asked for the flyer artwork last was told it was being redesigned, not directed to the current available one. Happy to use anything available tbh.
I can kinda see why people don't donate, too. It's hard to see where the money goes without accounts, etc, and we do have to take a lot on trust this side. I donated what I could and feel I get value from what I use (I don't use the technical side much. but I know others do).
And I'm not trying to be negative, but maybe just playing devil's advocate? I know that people think that anyone making comments is criticising, but owners/founders/moderators/whatever need to be receptive to input, think about it without instantly saying no, giving some reasoned argument as to why it's a yes or a no.
As you have done above
Right now in the bank we have approx £110. We have a grand total of around 6 paid members. If we took off what it would cost for Waz to design and build the site and maintain it we would be - £5,000 at least and add in hosting costs - another couple of grand. We have money outstanding for the dreaded stickers as well. We do have accouts munky and I have a legal contract, everything is above board.
I don't think founders are ever unreceptive to input the fact is we get very little at the moment. This site will always be for members, and we will consider their input as much as is possible, but sometimes founders etc have to make decisions based on member support, bank balances and time factors. ...otherwise we wouldn't survive...even this long.
The sad fact is this site won't progress until we make some revenue to get on our feet, and if it doesn't it will just fade away like some others.
I don't think people criticising is a bad thing - but it is when they don't rationalise it with what we have got to work with, and balance it with the costs of obtaining what they want/need the forum to do.. it's difficult to make an argument that is understood. We won't be able to make everyone happy, all of the time.
This isn't directed at you Mrs A, but I think it does need to be clarified for other too members which is why I have answered including your post

Why aren't you?
Just not got the money mate - moved house when we didn't expect to and my secondment at work finished so I dropped a whack of wages. GTV back off the road and it costs a shit load in petrol to get there, plus room plus drinking pennies.
I'm gutted but I WILL meet all my forum buddies at some point

First and foremost, thanks to everyone who has helped make AD a success, here we are 16 months later still going strong:.thumbs:
We have grown a lot from the early days, however we need to make some changes to attract new members and to offer better services to our community. Promotional material, members packs and representation at shows/events all come at a price, as does stocking an AD shop. To survive in the next few years (and further) we not only need to raise funds, but also to share the workload. I can't multi task that much
With the success of our first specialist role (technical advisor - smaky) and all of this in mind here are a few new roles that we would like to create, If you have the skills, enthusiasm and experience and most importantly time and think you could fill one or more (if you CAN multitask) of the roles please click the Apply link in the first instance (its sends a pm to Mokicat), listing your reasons for applying and the skills/experience you could bring to the post, by October 15th. Please put the Role title in the subject line.
I'll post interested candidates names here so that we all know who is interested in which post.
Area Rep Co-Ordinator
To co-ordinate area reps, and designate geographical areas. Assist in recruiting new reps as required. Manage distribution of area rep promotional materials.
PR / Events Co-Ordinator
Manage and assist to develop AD branding and promotional materials in conjuction with founders, to ensure consistency of AD products used throughout forum and at meets/events etc. Source promotional materials for members packs, AD shop etc. To target appropriate industry events, and to develop relationships with other forums.
Member Services Co-Ordinator
To assist to find appropriate discounts and deals for the benefit of AD members (ie group booking discounts for tuning/mapping, tyres/insurance etc) To be responsible for the distribution of members packs, and to deal with member enquiries.
