  1. Bose is shite. Over priced, over hyped, 'ooh look its shiny so it must be good' tat. Them and B & O. :nonono:

'Uprated' factory setups are fine for the average user. Though in most cases they just add a sub and the brand you're paying for put their logo on slightly beefier factory speakers.

If you like it LOUD, bin it all off, get a good head unit that puts out a good quality signal (not a high wattage signal, a good signal... Alpine preferably), good quality comps up front and a good sub in a box made for its spec in the back. Go for quality over quantity with amps, a monoblock for the sub and two channel for the comps Dynamat everything in sight and use the best quality wiring you can afford.

Then, and most importantly, get it set up properly! if you're gain is above 2/3, you're doing it wrong.

powercaps are a waste of time unless you're running massive power.

  2. Tell him to buy gaz's cloverleaf instead.

Retro is in atm  and you'll struggle to find a better one than his.

Probably be easier on insurance as well as its old enough for a classic policy, if he's old enough too. (some say 21, some 25)

  3. ^^^^ what they all said.

The insurance company will just have it cubed, its not worth enough for them to bother selling it as salvage. They've written it off because its 'not financially viable to repair'. But they work on dealer/approved bodyshop parts/labour charges to work out the cost, if its more than 60% (iirc) of the cars value in the glass's guide, they bin it off.

Buy it back (probably for pennies, if not free) and fix it up on the cheap. There's bound to be one of these in the same colour sat in a scrap yard somewhere you could rape for bits. It's only a flesh wound, a days work tops I reckon.

if you cant be arsed to fix it, buy it and sell it to someone who can. You'd be stupid not to. :nonono:

  4. Just personal uploads on this forum. (aka attachments on the old software).

All your old ones will stay and be visible. But you cant upload any more.

From now on you need to host images off site, on photobucket/box, imageshack, whatever... Then use the tags to post them here.

I know its a pain, but ask anyone who's used a few forums, hardly any let people upload attachments, quite a lot dont even let people post images from off site for some reason... and thats just mean :nonono:

You can post your pics anywhere you like on here, as much as you like. (BUT NO BUMS, BOOBIES, WEE-WEES, OR HOO-HOOS :grr: )

  5. :yay:

Video is different. If you're just posting a link to a youtube video, copy the url (web address in the top bar of your browser - chrome, internet explorer, firefox etc) and paste it between [ media] and [ /media] on here.(without the spaces)

If its a video you have uploaded to photobucket, just do exactly as you would for a photo and copy>paste the code.

  6. put what?

    The haynes pic thread?

I put it here, you're posting in it. I put it in the place I said earlier in this thread I was going to put it. In the southwest events forum. I also put a link to it in the welsh forum, and left a link to it in the general chat forum.

You're posting in it ffs, how can you not know where it is?!

  7. As long as you choose 'tapatalk hosted' you're ok... I think  Tbh, its easier to just use the PB app on your phone anyway.

I think I;ve set it so people cant upload attachments now so it shouldnt let you anyway.

  8. most likely its just the wheels out of balance but it could be something like a ball joint or bush worn out.

Get the wheels balanced first, only costs a tenner or so. If that doesnt fix it, get it up on a ramp and check the steering components for wear.
