  1. Hello guys. Issue: When idling there is a rattle noise in the transmission area, under the battery. When changing into reverse it makes a loud grinding noise (same as when trying to change a gear on a manual when while disengaging the clutch). The car runs smooth and changes the gears perfectly when driving. Thankfully the cam belt is fine and I didn't kill the engine. Story: I love my Alfa and take great care of it. Though (I am ashamed to admit this) today I was parallel parking my car uphill, I was reversing just by releasing the gas pedal while being in first. When I had to make the maneuver up the hill (to finish parking), just out of habit I switched the gear up, thinking it is in reverse, pressed the gas, the engine stalled showing the "Oil pressure low" warning. I am worried that I might have destroyed the transmission. I hope it is just the clutch release bearing. Any of you guys had a similar issue? How likely is it that the transmission itself is damaged? I will get it to a service, because it is winter outside and I don't have a warm garage to check it out myself. Cheers!
