Hmmmmmm. Just out of bed following a 12 hour sleep/ recovery from my jaunt over to Beaulieu, yesterday.
150+ miles on A roads, with air-con just unable :Sigh:to cope:(...............moan, moan, moan) Journey back here to N Devon was hot and sweaty.
Would I do it again? Next year I'm going to wear a banner to make sure that I can meet and greet some of you folks.
Line-upon-line of extraordinarily (over?)polished and pampered beauties, a surprising lack of gathering points for a newcomer to be able to meet and greet, 5 (yes, five) poloshirts hanging for sale in the AROC gazeebo, no alfaowner.com windowstickers to be seen, ....
Am I just too enthusiastic for my own good?
-
Ooooooo I remember you now lol....sorry
Ps daughter starting third year at Glasgow school of art after summer
HULLLO!!!! How is your Daughter's progress?
-
Hi folks,
We lost an Area Representative today
Was it me?..............I've made a lot of noise about events in the SW in the short time I've been on here. If I contributed, I'd like to apologise.
-
Is that a yay or a nay ??.
Wouldn't know where to start
-
Bugger it
-
The organiser has given a clear invite to exhibit Alfas together.
How do the SW members, on here, feel about joining forces with other Alfa club members?
-
Lets see who's up for it then we can sort out details with the organisers.
If you are going to attend quote this post and add your name
K9d (Possibly Saturday, Definitely Sunday)
Sopranofan certainly there at one of the 2 days......flexible to help the thing along.
-
Post 17.
He said he's not about that weekend.
So.............................erm..................who's organising a block/alfadriver attendance, please?
-
Probably, I will try and find out who that is.
Well that was easy its Tony156, I will send him a PM.
What did Tony156 say, buddy?
-
Hmmm It's a loooooooooong way away....
It's a holiday though.. Take a look http://www.croyde-surf-cam.com/2011/03/saunton-sands.html

in the Alfa to a car show where there's camping
and ale for the birthday treat
Kids love that going away with the grown ups
THAT is the best point to make........it is a lovely part of the world 40 minutes from super beaches and easily found by 'fast' roads
-
Feeling at home yet?
Why yes thank you
-
Put me down as an almost definite yes for the Sunday
I have a 20' x 10' Gazebo I could bring along.
Cheers, although I'm real novice when it comes to event-management. Shouldn't this be passed, now, to the Forum's SouthWest rep?

Have written to the organisers to ask that question & will report back
Here's the really helpful answer (in blue, below) from the organiser PLUS a clear invite to exhibit Alas together. So, all that is needed now is a commitment from members here. I'll; be pleased to help as I live closeby to the location of the Festival.
Hi Richard,
No age restriction at all, the Festival is intended to cater for fans of
motor cars - full stop. The more cars the merrier, no restriction on club
stand sizes either, simply forward the reg. numbers with the application and
we will ensure you are all together.

Would our cars be eligible, the event seems to be for classic cars ?
Have written to the organisers to ask that question & will report back
-
Sorry, but I feel distinctly 'alone' and would like to know if there're any other alfadrivers in N Devon
-
-
I wrote to the organisers of the above Festival to ask if they could accommodate Alfas from owners' clubs, and their response was v positive.
Here's their welcoming response to my eMail..........
Hi Richard,
We would be delighted to have as many Alfas on show as possible.
I have attached the relevant form for club/groups - the fee is £5 per car (driver + one passenger) for the entire weekend and camping plus evening beer , food and entertainment is just £10 for the whole weekend (Fri & Sat night) - so a great weekend for £15 !!
There will be a display of up to 1,000 classic and historic vehicles from clubs and private owners and will feature a special showcase display of over 50 historic Aston Martins to celebrate their centenary year.
The feature event this year will be our Track Sprint Challenge - providing some lucky owners with the opportunity to test themselves and their machines along our 0.8 mile sprint track in an MSA competition event in front of thousands of spectators.
Attractions will include Kimi Raikkonen's 2013 Lotus Renault F1 car, a breathtaking display from the Abarth stunt plane on both days, helicopter pleasure flights, race teams and cars from the Aston Martin team at Generation AMR, the Top Gear Experience, a track display from the team at Mission Motorsport, plus the team from Bonhams will be on hand to provide advice as well as confidential valuations for owners.
In addition there will be a Trade Exhibition area with up to 40 stands and these will include Lamborghini, Bentley, Ferrari, Maserati Aston Martin, Jaguar, Renault, Mazda, Subaru, Porsche, Mercedes Benz, Lotus and Noble to name but a few.
There will also be a programme of arena events and an auto jumble, plus lots to see and do for all the family including archery and laser clay shooting plus a toddlers funfair and play area.
More Festival information can be found on our Facebook page,on Twitter, and our website - Castle Hill Car Festival
