  1. I think maybe this car is the wrong car to take everything out of, not a daily drive at all...havent seen the thing for best part of a month! Like what you did with the 'shitbox'.

Maybe I need to get a cheap cheap car which I can totally strip out and not care about too much?

  2. How would you reduce the weight of a 147GTA without spending a fortune? I ask because I was thinking about making the 'A' in GTA mean something. As I understand the car weighs 1360 kg / 2998 lbs (correct me if im wrong) in standard form and I was wondering what people would do to reduce the weight and what affect it might have on brakes/handling etc.

My thoughts were removing seats front and rear but I want to keep electrics such as windows and double din. Any suggestions welcome, cheers

Oh and anyone who makes the 'lose some weight fatty' remark can shut up. It is holiday weight from 2009 and I am working on it! :omnom:

  3. SP - are you going to AD gathering at Mrs A's on 24th/25th? If so, and you're only going up for the Sunday, could I cadge a lift from the Big Smoke in your awesome sounding GTA? :D Fuel tokens etc provided obviously.

I havent looked into this yet. If my diary and by diary I mean wife hasnt planned anything for us then hell yes! Mini road trip and dont be silly about fuel tokens! Its all about beer tokens!

  4. Welcome aboard, Sam.

I note from your avatar that you're a Family Guy fan. Top freakin' show.

    You know Morgan,

Family guy is like a beautiful women...love your pic, Tony from Fast Show? Either that or you have the best perm job going!

  5. Hey Pete,

I tried to pm you but not sure if you got it. Was looking to get my 147gta fully re painted. It is in average condition for age and the colour is sterling grey.

Looking to do it in 2 ish months depending on cost. Cheers buddy,

    Sam

I have the number of a fantastic sprayer/bodywork specialist not too farfrom me itf you'd like it.

Hey Alex, yeh that would be great, does he do 'mates rates' work. If you could text or pm me his number I will get in touch.

    Thanks...again!

  6. Haha, next you will be saying my open gear gate idea was too much!

I've contemplated a Stainless gate on mine, but with only UP, DOWN, N and R, that may be too minimalist, yhough on a 6 speed it would work, need to get some measurements done.

I'm well up for doing this. When I come up on Monday can we talk more about it. Also I'm thinking about stripping out seats etc and very interested in talking about turbo charging with you.

    Cheers Alex, Sam

  7. Evening Winners,

Has anyone painted their interior trim with material paint or plastic paint or whatever it is that gives soft touch feel on plastic? I want to re do the electric window switch covers and the handbrake/gear box tunnel.

Everything else is good interior wise...also has anyone acheived a good fit of the electric window boxes back in the door trim. Drivers side one on my 147 is rubbish!

    Cheers all

  8. Yeh I have black and red as a theme I fuess now, im going to get the ribbed parts of the seats and door trim re stitched red like the more recent models. Have a black with red stitch gear and hand brake boot. Then some decent black and red mats and the interior will be done.

  9. Hello hello,

Love this new forum guys, thanks to all those putting it together etc...anyway...

This is my first post for tech help, it will be one of many. I am useless at anything that involves a motorcar, except from driving though! BOOM hahaha.

I am purchasing a Blackline steering wheel with lovely red stitching and decent buttons to replace my tired gta one. So... how the buggery balls do you swap them? A step by step guide with crayon pictures and single silibul words would be ideal.

    Cheers have a good weekend!
